ok so full of excitement i pre-ordered the beastmen book and a few models ready to be delivered to my home on release day so i could sit at home this weekend coming up with sexy new army lists and building new models. I placed the order quite a while ago as well so it wasnt like a late order.

Now i had to go into the shop to pick up some paint friday night, and all the delivery to stores were in.
GW should adopt the same position as a lot of other companies and stop using the so called ROYAL mail, it really is another sign of the decadent infrastructure systems in England. It may not be a publicly owned company but its staff are still caught up in the whole civil service mentallity, which is getting more and more outdated by the day.

I had the same with Codex:Tyranids. Ordered it at the start of December a good month or so before it was due. Come realease day, nothing. Phoned the local sorting office, nothing. A week went by without hearing anything. I eventually phoned GW mail order a week or so later and they told me to pop into a GW store to pick one up. Another week later and the parcel arrives.
Looking at the dates stamped on it, it had been sat in the sorting office (which I would bet is the same sorting office as yours based on how close you live) for nearly three weeks. I should`ve received it around a week early. There was no card through the door to say they had it and when I phoned up to check they told me they didn`t. I`ve been in to complain about parcels before and the lady behind the counter let slip that most of the postmen there don`t even bother to take the parcels with them if they look like they won`t fit through a letterbox.
*sighs*
Kinda defeats the entire point of pre-ordering early when the post office just keeps hold of it for a couple of weeks. It wasn`t helped by the fact GW put something that`d fit in a jiffy bag (and so would`ve been posted through the door) in a great big box.
