It's reasonably obvious (at least to me) that the result of the miscast has to be modified and "finalised" before a reroll can be made and if your supposed to bounce the miscast "after" you've rolled your supposed to know what the result is before you've miscast i.e. puppet, soul stone, puppet again and then cupped hands.

Totally agree with you on this jonny, we had a couple of questions on this with my savage orc boar boyz and i dont feel its fair that you declare the use of the banner before charge reactions. In fact to the charging player thats not that fair, and in my mind i dont believe thats how the army book writer intended its use.

A. No. Although the Engine of the Gods can only be used so long as the Priest is alive, it
isn’t any sort of magic item, and it’s not him that’s casting the spells.

So according to the FAQ the engine effects are spells. Therefore if I have a big ass unit of Dragon Princes under the Banner of the World Dragon, the engine cant touch me.
