game 1 vs vamps pitched battle

this game spoiled my entire weekend. it just simply went far far to well. in turn 3 his vamp lord charged my 3 fell bats and his 2+ sv bsb vamp charged my 3 wound spirit host. i killed them both. after that it was easy i had to sit back and not let his ghouls get to big and deal with a charge from some black knights.

game 2 vs vamps kill points

had to swap opponent. goddammit you always lose when your forced to swap.

ghoul army with some wraiths an 2 carts. i killed one from magic missiles turn 1 then pinned the other with bats and moved away. defining moment comes when my grave guard an mannfred get in to combat with his lord an some ghouls. both mannfred an the wight hit his lord. get 4 hits from mannfed do 2 wounds. get 2 hits from wight. 5/6 for killing blow or to wound. fail. his lord steps up and does 4 wounds with 4 attacks to mannfred then a ghoul poison hims and he drops down dead. crumble tests really hurt lose all grave guard an wight before they fight again and bad from there.

game 3 vs wood elves table quarters.

i played this perfect. easily contested all the table quarters and killed the bsb both units of wardancers and both trees. he hid drayds behind a wood in one quarter, drayds behind a building in one quarter archers behind a wood in one quarter and put his wild riders in the other. i went for the wild riders - sent 8 magic missiles of which 6 were 2d6 at them over 3 turns. didnt kill a single one. so was forced to van hells some skellies into them an hope they failed there ld test. they didnt.

it was at this point i discovered i'd broke my phone at some point. i new that first game went too well.

game 4 vs dark elves table quarters

like wise i played this perfect too. he had second turn. the key moments were he passed a panic check on a hydra on a 5 it then killed 2 blocks of skellies. he scrolled wind of undeath turn 1 and 2 cause he was using 2 units fo 5 harpies and one unit of 5 shades to contest - in turn 3 i miscast wind rolled a 9 and lost the spell. yay. in my last turn i had 1 quarter and contested 2 other was empty. manfred moved up an booked himself across to 2d6 mm some harpies, out of range by about half an inch then 2diced van hells to move zombies into the empty table quarter as he couldnt reach to raise. rolled double 6 was about half an inch in range of the ring of hotek (first time he used it could have been in 3 places this was only place in range) miscast end magic phase lose lots dice crap. his turn he kills the 5 grave guard i needed raise into an the 5 skellies to claim 1 quarter where i would have put zombies. he rallies some harpies to contest and flies the ones i didnt kill into the empty quarter and wins 2-0

game 5 vs vamps kill points

good game vs army very similar to mine. did what i would do agaisnt mine and spammed 7d6 magic missiles a turn at the grave guard stopped him raising them properly for first turn and then every turn after after reduced them to 5 or less so he was forced to put all his magic into them which ment when his units did arrive they were small and killable. i killed his fell bats with my bats, a small unit with my grve guard and a vamp with my grave guard. i also ran my lone wight into his lord in a unit with no chump - added some skellies for combat res. killing blow here we come rolled the 6 he wore the no killing blow armour. crap. wight goes down as do the skellies as the get flanked and varghulfed and wrongly conflaged (they were in combat ref said he could). also lost my bats to his varghulf and some wolves. finished 3-3

game 6 vs dark elves pitched battle

he had 4 x 5 dark riders 4x5 harpies 2 hydra's 2xshades with assaisins dragon lord with ring. so 2 dispel dice no scrolls then? this isnt going to go well for you.

i spammed 4 wind of undeath in first 2 turns reducing all the small units to crap forcing 7 panic checks in turn 2 and taking a few wounds on hydra and dragon. forced him to land his dragon behind my army moved away and turned a skellie block an van hells them in. then feeling cheeky cast doom an darkness on the dragon and watched it run off the table. free reign from there really. 2 hdyra's charged my grave guard they held an i flanked with all the skellies for static 9 killed them both. game over

a good weekend overall 6 good games and no problems, happy with my performance just my luck let me down. ah well you cant win them all.

yea.. the people who want to swap (usually) are because they dont want to hurt thier mates chances or have already played and army and lost.... either way why should you be forced to .. it greatly reduced the chance your gonna have a FUN games.. ys there are expetions.. me and grot and gary marsh wanted to swap at doubles cos wed already played them.. fair enough..

but generally swopers are looking for an advantage which imediatly put a black mark against them b4 ive even seen thier army... and then sods law its somthin harsh that bones you..

if i drew again a flame on er i woulnt ask to swap .. the only reason i did at the heats vs gaz was that the people next to us were part of the same gaming group and they wanted to .. so we did (and i lost to seerbike spam :S) .. if i played any of you lot id try and hammer you in to the grount like a tent peg as any other player. So thats why swoping is bad ..... its generally for the wrong reasons....
