Well its all over and it was imo a really good weekend. Just a shame i did so badly 77th is my worst placing ever), guess i had to learn what it is like not to have the dice gods smiling down upon you all the time.

I took the same list from the heats that did me proud:

Warboss on bike with squig, klaw, cybork, sorcha
5 nob bikers with 1 klaw, 1 pole, 1 banner, 1 painboy
12 lootas
30 shoota boyz with 3 rockets and nob with klaw/pole
20 choppa boyz with 2 rockets and nob with klaw/pole
20 choppa boyz with 2 rockets and nob with klaw/pole
3 deffkoptas with rockets
lootedwagon with boom gun

So after a very successful few practice games over the past couple of weeks i was determined to do myself proud.

Game 1 - Great Harlequin/CSM - Loot Counters/Pitched Battle

Never played Chris before so despite it being red on red i was happy not to swap.

Chris had:

Dual Lash Princes
2 CSM Squads with fists and dual melta in Rhino's
small Plague marine squad with dual plasma
5 oblits
defiler

The game opened up well for me with my Deffkoptas scaring the pants of Chris by scouting, shooting and killing 3 of his plague marines and then charging them!!! (gotta love scout and turbo) whilst my lootas ripped the battle cannon off his defiler. Meanwhile my boyz swarmed forwards and knocked 2 wounds off his prince whilst the bikers turbo'd into the middle of the board behind a hill.

Chris responded by boshing his 2 rhino's and princes up my left flank towards the 2 choppa units. He lashed one unit right back whilst pulling the other into rapid range, lots of shots later my boyz where still standing thanks mainly to Chris having to shoot past his own units. Meanwhile the oblits began their epic battle to get past the cover protecting my boomgun and me passing all my 4+ saves. Meanwhile the koptas who had done nothing to the Plaguemarines in CC managed to hit and run out of combat.

Turn 2 saw my bikes move onto the hill and knock a wound off the oblits. My koptas after hit and running spun round and brought one of his princes down to a single wound whilst my boom gun scored a direct hit on his clumped up marines and killed 8 from one squad and 4 from another (ouch!). Then i called the Waaagghhh so that my smaller wounded choppa unit could charge the wounded lash prince whilst the 2nd unit went into both remaining CSM squads who were quickly butchered.

Chris moved his oblits and 2nd lash prince up to the bikers and lashed them within 2" of them all whilst his defiler went off and killed all my koptas in combat. Chris fires 5 twin meltas in the bikers and kills 2, i then roll 12 for my moral and then zoom miles out of charge range. Chris is not a happy bunny!

Turn 3 my bikes rally One of the choppa units charges the defiler and fists it to death whilst the other charges the lone plague marine but fails to wound even with the fist. Finally after lootaing up the bigger oblit squad my shoota boyz charge into combat and kill the prince and the oblits.

The game was pretty much over now and the next 2 turns was me killing his rhinos and watching as that lone plaguemarine survived combat vs the choppa boyz unit the final last powerfist hit finally stopped rolling 1's and killed him.

So after a very good game vs Chris i found myself on table 2 (mikey on table 3 beside me) and vs Allesandro/Ruglud from Bath's Orks.

Mission: Kill Points/Spearhead

The board had a massive ruin in the middle of it (ones of those long sausage shaped ones with big window arch ruins on either end) and i took the quarter that had the most cover possbile to deny Allesandro anywhere to hid his trukks. All my boyz went down 18" from the middle with my koptas and wagon behind a wood. My lootas went in my bottom left corner to get the best view into his deployment zone with the bikers lined up in front of them.

Allesandro pretty much followed suite with the lootas in a ruin opposite mine. His boyz all 20" in his deployment zone facing me with the grots strung out in front. Both trukks well hidden by the mega central ruin and stormboyz on my right flank.

Turn 1 saw me nuke the choppa boy trukk (he secretly noted which was which to make it interesting) and it kareened infront of my army. Those boyz all got promptly shot up despite going to ground. My Koptas pulled out to the right for a long shot at his other trukk and to tempt the stormboyz into them. Whilst everything else advanced and the lootas nailed 5 of his.

He responds by promptly sending the stormboyz after the koptas who were out of charge range (his first mistake) and advancing his wall of boyz and grots forwards are far as possible (his 2nd mistake). His shooting did nothing until his lootas shot back at mine, killed 3 and my lads ran off the board

Turn 2 I call the Waaaaggghh and i go in for the kill: My Koptas pull back and rocket his stormboyz who then get charged by 20 of my choppa boyz after a 6 on the waaagh. My bikers move up onto the left flank, kombi scorcha kills 11!!!! of his massive choppa unit and 5 grots (not bad for 5pts), dakka guns rack up a few more and then i charge in killing the mod entirely without taking a wound. In the centre my shoota boyz charge and kill the grots whilst my 2nd choppa unit charges the surviving trukk boyz and takes them down.

Allesandro at this point looks a little concerned. He jumps Ghazgull out and calls his mega waggghh boshing into my bikers and slaying all but one of them with me only scoring a single wound. I then promptly fled without any chance of rallying. In the middle he goes all out shooting up my shoota boyz with everything he has got and charging in the massive shoota unit and trukk shoota unit. Combat sees my boyz killed to a man after getting run down.

Turn 3 onwards involved my choppa boyz coiunter charging all his remaining lads and slowly battering each other in combat whilst me boomgun and koptas hide from the lootas to not give easy kill points and my 2nd choppa unit tries to get back into the fight. Ghazgull paces up and down outside the massive combat unable to get in and the game ends on turn 5 with a few boyz from all 3 of our units left in there.

Great game, sooooooo many dice got rolled on that board and the final result is 7-4 to me. But if it wasn't for Allesandro's 2 mistakes (advancing his horde the full 6" on his turn 1 and moving the stormboyz after the koptas) it may have being a very different result.

Game 3 vs Allen El-Sour...... no change that...... Alex Whitehead/Torgoch and the beginning of my slippery slope downhill to follow

So game 3 and when i looked up the draw i was against another fellow red shirt; Allen El-Sour - YAY! I've only played Allen once before at Carnage last year and it was an awesome game.

Unfortunately as we where so high up the refs said they would sooner have us swap to avoid any grumbles of throwing games to win a particular sweepstake we had running at the weekend....

So next to us were Tange/Andy10k and Alex/Torgoch. I have never played Alex so was hoping to draw him. We rolled a dice and i was to play Mr Whitehead. YAY! Alex then told me he had Dual Seer Bike Councils - booooooo! This is the only army build my Orks struggle against and so far i have had my ass handed to me each time i have faced one.

Oh well hopefully this this the dice gods will smile on me....

Alex's list was:
x2 Farseers with fortune
2x8 Seer Councils on bikes with destructor, enhance and embolden
5 Rangers
3x3 Jetbikes
Holo Falcon
5 Avengers

Mission was Capture the Flag/Dawn of War (imo the worst combination of scenario/setup going)

Alex won the dice off and predictably chose to go 2nd. I set up my objective in a slightly forward central piece of terrain (best place for Orks to put theirs not knowing where the enemy will) and Alex placed his slap bang in the top right corner (again no surprise but best place for him).

i deployed my 2 massive choppa units 24" on the board on the right opposite his objective (as in this mission i always play aggressively for the win regardless) while he put his rangers in some woods opposite my flag.

Turn 1 and i tubo'd the bikes and koptas up with the choppa boyz to give them a screen as they advanced whilst my shoota boyz, lootas and tank took up position in the rubble around my flag. Alex then opted to only bring on both seer councils turboing them behind cover from the vast majority of the lootas.

Turn 2 a swung my bikers and koptas across to deal with the councils whilst my choppas continued on towards his flag. I threw a couple of shots at the seercouncils and managed to kill 2 of them with my boomgun.

None of Alex's reserves came on and he then fortuned both councils and demonstrated how to create a massive conga line between my bikes and shoota boyz who were some 12" apart and engaged them with the first council whilst the 2nd took up position behind. I piled in and so began a massive combat that lasted most of the game. This is where my Orks struggle. Seer Bike Councils will nearly always get the charge, hit on 3's, wound on 2's and have re-roll saves against my poor S3 boyz. So to sum it up i was reliant on my klaws and bikers to save the day. At this point thogh the dice gods laughed at me and i failed to do anything. I lost combat, my bikes held but the shoota boyz lot a whole swath more as they where fearless. Oh dear i have seen this happen too many times.

Turn 3 and a desperate gambit on my part saw me charge my lootas in to support the bikes/boyz whilst my koptas went into both his pathfinders and 2nd council. I planned to hopefully win combat by killing pathfinders whilst his council being in a long line couldn't get enough attacks back to do anything. Unfortunately alex caused 5 wounds from 4 council and 5 pathfinder attacks and my gamble failed. In the centre again my shoota boyz got chopped up whilst all my attacks including 10 klaws all bounced.

Alex then piled his second council into combat whilst his falcon and bikes came on from reserve and hide out of range/sight from my tank and 40 choppa boyz on his objective. Combat ensued and yet again i lots tons of boyz but this time finally my Klaws go through and killed 7 of his seer council members including one farseer. Unfortunatly i lost by 1. I rolled for my shoota boyz (now on 10 models) they held. My lootas on 9 also held. My bikers rolled 11..... boss pole..... 12! Ghah! They then only feld 5" and where still in 6" of his bikes.

My turn 4 and my bikes decided that now was a better time to put thier foot down and rolled 14" straight off the board. Oh balls. I shot up 2 of his jetbikes with my boom gun and consolidated further onto his objective. Combat saw all my shoota boyz die but my lootas somehow managed to hold on a 3.

Alex's turn 4 and he began moving his holotank up for the obligatory turn 5 rush onto his flag whilst his bikes zoomed towards my home base. In combat my lootas went under and his councils were free once again.

Turn 5 i move on choppa unit up Alex's back edge and fire 3 rockets at his tank, scoring no hits. Damn whilst my tank moves to contest my home flag. I charge the falcon but again just fluff all my rolls.

He then moves his jetbikes to my objective which is still contested and charges his seer bikes into my tank... it survives! Ok on the otherside of the board Alex makes his tank shock onto his flag, i death or glory with a rocket boy from my first unit.... 5 its a pen! Ok he is Holo'd..... 4/5 he is imobolised and goes down!!!!! YAAAAARRRR!!!!

I am winning the game.... oh no wait we have rolled and gotten a turn 6....

Turn 6 i know the seer councils are coming so i back one unit deep into the corner whilst the 2nd marches forwards to block the bike councils advance. Alex then promptly charges in, kills 10!!!!!! I break depsite being LD 10 with the Boss Pole (11 & 12 again for the rolls) and get cut down.

Ok if the game ends its a draw.... Allen do you fancy rolling???? Oh look we are playing a turn 7....

I spread my boyz out to avoid get destructored and try to kill some bikes with sluggas and rockets but fail. Alex's now turbo kily super nasty bikes pile into combat again (after cooking 4 with destructor) then proceed to chop me up good and proper and again there are 10 left. Ok if i hold its still a draw.... 11..... bosspole..... 12. Balls

Game over and i am tabled and Alex has a very well thought and justified ticket to the top. Good game sir and you taught me something new about charging and reminded me again why my orks hate seer bike councils so much.

Part 4.

Oh look again i am playing someone i know; Phil aka Yorky from Gambit Games with his Nids (the ones that beat me and mikey at doubles). This should be another top game as i know Phil is a good player and i am itching for revenge.

His list was:

x2 Dakka Tyrants
6 Deathspitter/rending warriors
x2 cheapo CC Fex's
2x8 Super Stealers with Scuttlers, Scything Talons and Feeder Tendrils

x2 Fex's with Stanglers, Devourers and Spinebanks

Mission Capture the Flag/Quarters.

Phil got to pick quarters and went for one with a nice long piece of rubble going across the middle that would shield his army from the worst of it. Warriors went in the middle of this with WON guants hidding behind on his flag, all the shooty TMC's went infront with the CC fex's taking station on either flank as close to my dzone as possible. I then placed all the boyz down within 18" of the centre using some woods to give them cover from the inevitable devourer attacks (shootas taking the centre whilst choppa's flanked them). My Lootas and tank went on a hill behind fit besides my flag (which was in the middle of the shoota boyz btw) and the bikers/koptas wnet in my bottom left flank. All Phil's stealers chose to outflank.

Turn 1 and Phil ran his 2 fex's along into my quarter looking to lap round my army and divide my boyz. His other TMC's fanned out and chucked everything into my Boyz but only caused minimal casualties.

I replied by zooming my bikes up into the centre of the board with a turbo move to cover my boyz who all moved out of cover. The koptas also flew into the centre and then everything i had procceded to chuck rockets and deffgun shots into his tyrants (scariest thing he had) scoring 2 wounds of 1 and 3 off the other.

Turn 2 saw Phil continue to run his CC fex's along my flank with one of them hiding behind some tau dome about 10/12" from my objective whilst again the rest of his TMc's jostled for the best fire lanes. Lots more shooting this time with EVERYTHING directed at the bikers who only lost the "chump" to a VC hit. I the retaliated by sending my koptas against one of his flanking fex's but missed with everything. I then peeled my choppa boyz off to deal with the CC fex's, one of my units was able to charge and promptly saw the beastie off in combat. The others couldn't get round the dome quick enough. My shootas walked up the middle and slew his tryant on 1 wound with massed shooting whilst the lootas finished off the other. I then charged my bikers into one of his devourer/strangler fex's with the warboss being the only one in range and 6 powerklaw hits later it was dead.

Whoooo things are looking very good for me at this point.

Turn 3 and both Phils stealer units come on and end up walking on from his short edge - whoooooo even better news. Things are REALLY looking up for me. He fleets them forwards as fast as possible to plug the hole left by his dead gunfex and faces off against my choppa boyz. On the other flank it suddenly dawns on me my koptas are very close to his CC fex, too close in fact and phil knows this. He boshes into combat, kills all 3 then rolls a 6 allowing him to use his fleshhooks to scale a dome and be unassaultable by my choppa boyz. Poo. Meanwhile back on the ranch he chucks his last 2 fex's fire power and warriors deathspitters into my bikers. Ah poo i suddenly cannot roll 4+'s and loose all of my bikes except for the boss pole and the warboss takes a VC hit to the face. Bugger. The last biker then decides he's had enough and legs it.

My turn and i fire the choppa boyz rockets and lootas and boomgun into his CC fex on the dome and bring it down to 1 wound, thats good news at least. Whilst my shoota boys advance to within 10" of phils objective and kills 3 warriors. Finally my other choppa unit see's what is coming and piles into the same terrain as his stealers hoping to kill a few when they charge back.

Turn 4 and phil does not disappoint, he charges all his stealers into my boyz. I chop down a whole unit!!! Go me! Unfortunately there is still 8 more who slice and dice my boyz off the board. Well at least thats one down. In the centre his warriors back the hell off from my shoota boyz but it may not be enough. Finally his last CC fex moves over the domes to threaten my home objective and gets ready to be shot by all my lootas and slugga boyz.

I move my shoota boyz forwards and fire everything into the last stealer unit, but phils cover saves are amazing and out of about 10 wounds only 2 die!!! Ah this might hurt. My choppa boyz shoot the CC fex on the dome but fluff their to wound rolls with the rockets (got 2 hits and 2 1's to wound). Then my lootas shooting bounced harmlessly off the bugs carapace (6 3+ saves made) so i end up sniping it with my boom gun finally scoring a wound and killing the thing.

Turn 5, Phil shoots the last gunfex and warriors into my shoota boyz but only kills a couple and then charges the 6 remaining stealers in. Right make or break time. There is only 5 mins left so if i survive combat and kill the stealers i can move within 3" of his objective and win the game.... Ok stealers go first and kill 13 boyz! Ouch! That leaves me with 9 lads and the Nob. 18 attacks kill 4 stealers, ok looking good just need to finish off these last 2. 3 hits with the Klaw!!! Wooooot! Hell yeah! 5 seconds later and a i roll double 1 so only 1 stealer dies. Phil wins by 8 and my shoota boyz break and run. Drat!

The game ends with me killing of his last stealer in an ac of spite with the lootas and it is a draw.

Again another awesome game vs someone i know.

In a bit how i face down a khorneate daemon army and forget which way to point my guns.....

Round 5..... FIGHT!

So i walked up to game 5 to find myself against another Ork player when suddenly i find Nigel King/King tapping at my shoulder. About 5 mins ago i said how it would be cool if we could play each other. Nigel informs me that him and his opponent have already played this weekend and do i fancy swapping.

Sure thing says i, totally forgetting once again the golden GT rule; if you swap a game you will loose! (i always loose a game swap).

Nigle then tells me he has all Khorneate Daemons. Nice i think, lots of red things getting shot whilst trying to get into combat.

Bloodthrister with Might

Soulgrinder with mini rail gun

Mission Dawn of War and objectives (4).

All the objectives ended up getting placed on the very open half of the board (one half was open the other heavily forested) and i subsequently deployed my 2 choppa units on a hill overlookling them.

I got turn 1 and brought my whole horde on speeding forwards into the open board and taking most of the objectives whilst my lootas took station in a ruin to my right with good angles into the wooded areas.

Nigel then summons his prefered half: Bloodthrister, crushers, 1 icon unit, 1 normal unit and 1 grinder. They all aim to land near my right flankl amongst the woods but all scatter away from my army. Good news i think, that buys me an extra turn of shooting. He chucks a pieplate at the lootas and kills 2 and otherwise runs his red lads forwards.

Turn 2 i move my horde up to the right to bring all my rockets in range of his grinder and my bikes zoom forwards ready to pounce on his army in turn 3. I open up with all my rockets and lootas at the Grinder (being the only thing i can see) but everything bounces off its armoured hide.

Nigel then summons the rest of his letters and a second grinder onto the board and brings them all down in the woods off his original icon. Eeeep thats starting to look like a lot of red daemons. His crushers sneak through some woods towards the lootas whilst his bloodthrister flies into postion to charge my army next turn. Again his only shooting is (now) 2 pieplates which case minimal damage on my lootas.

Turn 3 ok time to kill that big red flying daemon says my warboss to the army. I move my units into postion and fire: 9 Lootas, 20 odd shootas, 7 rockets and 3 twin rockets at the beastie and score an huge ammount of hits and wounds. Nigel then scoffs at me as he makes some 15 odd saves! Git! I then decide to gamble my bikers against the beast. I shoot thier dakkaguns at a letter unit standing besides the monster and kill all but 1 (phew that was nearly too effective) and then using Mr Whiteheads tactics charge my bikes into the last letter and the klaw nob and warboss into the thirster. I reason that on average my Warboss should survive this and together with the bikers lay some smack down on the beast. How wrong was i. Nigel sticks 3 attacks on the warboss forgetting i was T5 so can't be instant killed but still kills him and slays 2 bikers to boot! Oh dear i am LD1 now... bikes break and are chopped down.

Nigel then sends his thrister into my shoota boyz, his crushers are just a sliver in range of my lootas and eveything else advances towards my now worried looking boyz. Combat goes as expect with the crushers slaughtering my lootas. The bloodthrister kills 5 boyz and only takes one wound in return despite masses of attacks.

Turn 4 i start backing my choppa units away from the red horde trying to hold the objectives but not get charge. Again i chuck a few rockets at the grinders but the once again miss or bounce. This is not lookin good. In combat more of my boyz die whilst the thrister only takes a single wound.

Nigels last grinder arrives but thankfully scatters away from the objectives whilst the 2 other grinders then manage a massive 6" fleet each and charge one of my choppa units who get battered without return and break (again brought down to 10 models so have to test... this seems familiar). The thirster cuts 4 more boyz down who also end up on 10 models and also despite the boss pole break and get cut down fleeing. This is feeling very familiar.

Turn 5 i spy a potential error on Nigles part. His nearest letter unit is too far from an ojective. I back my choppa boyz off hoping to fend off the the thirster, hold the objective and snipe a win from Nigel.

He promptly charges his Thirster in who goes down to 1 wound whilst my boyz loose 5 of thier number but still hol dthe objective and due to the size of the unit the thrister is out of 3".

Ok just need the game to end.... nope turn 6.

Nigels turn sees his letters finally take an objective whilst all 3 grinders charge into the already battered boyz. Combat is swift and to the point. My nob is left alone and misses the thirster, he breaks, dies and the field belongs to Mr King.

Again another good game and not much i could have done different. Maybe a silly mistake with the Bikers vs the Thirster but then again i had to try something.

Righto after a bit of delay i better get this finished off before i forget anything:

GAME 6 - its the final countdown (que big haired Swedish euro rock)

So after a weekend of playing ppl i know i was quite amused to see that i had being drawn against Myles Davis After persuading Myles that i really didn't want to watch England v France (i am Scottish and had a funny feeling France wouldn't make me proud) and that having a bit of a laugh for the last game was a much better idea we swapped lists:

Lysander
5 Assault Terminators
Redeemer
Dread with MM in Pod
5 Terminators with Cyclone
2 Tactical Squads with Plasma and ML's
2 Attackbikes with MM's

Ah poooo! Lysander is REALLY hard, Assault Terminators are REALLY hard and Redeemers are REALLY hard and i have very little that can quickly deal with them. In the words of John Travolta in Michael (i was forced to watch it by my GF)..... CHALLENGE!!!

Mission: Kill Points with Pitched Battle Set up.

The board was dominated by a massive ruin and wood pretty much sprawled across the centre of the board with a big hill in each of our deployment zones. Myles set up first and placed the Redeemer dead centre with the shooty terminators to the right and everything else behind bringing up the rear. Knowing full well its going to take pretty much my whole army to stop that flaming tank of doom packed with terminators i deployed in a massive wedge around the hill with the bikes to the front and lootas to the rear (btw a huge single wedge of Orks looks ace on a board).

Turn 1 and Myles' dread pods in to my left and nukes my pretty little looted wagon is a fiery blaze of multi-melta. Then he roared his redeemer straight up the middle of the board and left it looking very menacing right between the 2 previously mentioned pieces of terrain. The rest of his shooting was largely ineffectual with his 4 frag rockets (cyclone and 2 ML's) doing minimal damage thanks to the massive central terrain pieces.

I responded in pretty much the only way i could: firing every rocket into the Redeemer; which managed to blast one of the flamestorm cannons off. My lootas then opened up on the Dread and blew both his arms off leaving him feeling slightly impotent for the rest of the game. Finally with the big blue/grey brick of doom still mobile i had no choice but to charge my bikers bravely into its maw. 10 Klaw attacks later and it had lost the other Flame Storm Cannon and most importantly was imobolised. YES! (now i just have to survive 5 angry terminators and Lysander)

Turn 2 saw the angry terminators and Lysander pile out of the Redeemer and straight into the Bikes (ok i might get lucky). Myles Marched his other terminators forwards getting a good angle on some choppa boys and mowing half a dozen down whilst (thankfully) his attackbikes missed the deffkoptas - phew whilst his Dread went and hide behind the drop pod. My joy was short lived as the terminators smashed all my bikes to death and Lysander hammered my Warboss into little green pieces (probably further angered by taking a wound himself).

Ok i have 6 super hard terminators in front of 70 boyz and 12 lootas.... mmmm this should be fun. Whilst i was counting out dice my Koptas zoomed towards the MM bikes capping one off with thier twin rockets and then finding themselves in 6" so promptly charged the survivor. Ok moving onto the main event: 30 Shoota boyz open up and kill.... 1 terminators (i got about 15 wounds btw). 40 Slugga boyz fire and.... do nothing. Ghah! Ok Lootas do me proud; 36 shots later and still no more wounds. Double Ghah! Thats ok i'll just charge my boyz in; my 1st choppa unit turns out to be 6.5" away and my second rolls double 1 for its terrain test so it was left to my shoota boyz to do me proud. Many, many, many attacks later and didn't scratch a single Terminator! Oh dear. The hammers falls and i loose about a 10 of my boyz. I then remember i still have my Klaw and he is in 2" of Lysander. Que 3 hits, 3 wounds and 3 1's from Myles. WOOOOOOT! Meanwhile back on the ranch my deffkoptas and Myles' bikes just decided to have a picnic instead of fighting missing with all thier attacks.

Myles beings turn 3 by taking stock of the situation. He pulls his 2 tactical squads back from the mass of orks fighting the terminators in the centre whilst his 2nd unit goes off to punch up some deffkoptas. His only shooting was the redeemer which begun its new trick of assault cannoning the lootas killing 3 (this would become a regular event). With no more shooting its straight to combat, my shoota boyz decide that being S3 is better than S4 and kill 3 terminators, the final terminator breaks, gets caught and fails his save. YES! I then roll a 6 for my sweeping advance and storm up towards the tactical squads. My koptas kicked the last biker in the head and killed him. Shame that 12 powerfist attacks then followed up and there was no orks left to celebrate.

My turn and i suddenly see that his terminators are quite close to one of the choppa unts whilst my shoota boyz (having raced 6 up the board) are also looking nice and close to the tactical marines. I raced forwards and called the WAAAAGGGHHHH - 6's for all 3 units! HELL YEAH! Things are finally looking up. My Lootas go to town on the pod and wreck it gaining me another KP but as i didn't blow it up the dread would be able to hide for the rest of the game. Right time for some awesome combat... My shootas are 5" from one of his tactical squads and promptly smash in killing 5 of them on the charge. That was where the lucky run ended. Both my other choppa units fluffed thier terrain checks (they had a few boyz still in the mega woods) and failed to charge the 2nd terminator unit.

Turn 4; Myles pulls his terminators back onto his hill and hammers the crap out of the nearest choppa unit, his redeemer kills 3 more lootas (who hold) and his 2nd tactical squad charges in to support thier swamped comrades. Myles then had an awesome assault phase killing a huge swath of shoota boyz whilst only loosing 2 marines in return. I lost combat and carted another half dozen boyz off into my case. It was looking grim but i might be able to pull it back.

I begin the turn by making a tough choice, i am 2 KP's down on Myles and he only has 3 that i can easily get (i can't really touch the redeemer and the dread is too far away). Because of this i decide to split my choppa boyz up with the smaller unit going after the terminators whilst the bigger unit went for the closer tactical marines. The Lootas decided to help and killed 2 terminators before the boyz charged in, they fluffed everything, Myles didn't and i was sent packing with no chance of rallying. Whilst my 2nd choppa unit was just out of charge range of his tactical marines. That didn't go to plan.

Turn 5 and seeing that if i take down the 2 tactical squads i will get a draw Myles rushed his last 3 terminators, guns blazing, into my last choppa unit. His Redeemer killed another 3 lootas but they stand firm. The Tactical squads hammered the shoota boyz some more but i managed to finally finish of the already damaged unit bringing the combat to a draw whilst my choppa boyz saw his terminators off in short order and then rushed 6" back towards his last tactical squad.

Ok so the score is level... we roll for an extra turn.... YES TURN 6 IT IS and my choppa boyz are poised to charge in for the win.

My joy is short lived however as i remember he still has that damn redeemer; it shoots the lootas and kills the last 3. Damn he's 1 KP up again.

My turn, make or break time, the choppa boyz get into combat with his last tactical squad hoping for some revenge and a chance to level the score

Revenge is not mine however and again lady luck laughs in my face and all my attacks bounce whilst myles kills enough boyz to force a test on the shoota lads who keep up thier fine GT final tradition of failing thier LD test even whilst getting hit over the head by the Nobz boss pole

Games over and the final score is 7 KP's to 5 in Myles' favour.

Once again a great game but once again another loss to me.

Overall despite my luck the weekend has to be the best final i have being to and all i can do is once again thank all my opponents for 6 top games.
