With a couple of warpstone shards in their paws already, the Hold Rats were heading back to their lair when they noticed a bunch of green-things shouting and waving heavy books and symbols. Apparently they had something to say about the behaviour of some man-things holed up in a tall building. And a nice smell of cheese was coming from that same building!
"Well-well, man-things with cheese! Sure-sure they're Bretonnian!" squeaked Skrikit "We'll have the cheese, the green-things can have the man-things!".
The Hold Rats just had the time to take position into a ruined house that a hail of arrows coming from the man-thing sent Skrikit, his second in command Izkit and most of the Festearing Pikes to the ground.
Shooting his warplock pistol at an incoming, yelling orc Squeech remembered the old Skaven saying "Run today, fight tomorrow!" and took the Hold Rats away from the streets.
Later that evening, recovered from a light harrow wound, Skrikit swore in the name of the Horned Rat he would feast on the Bretonnian cheese. Failing that, he would feast on the cheesy Bretonnians.

Chasing for the Bretonnian cheese, Skrikit took the Hold Rats back to the Cod & Cutlass Inn. The Bretonnians (and their cheese) were gone, but the Orc Witch-hunters were still there, hording valuable wyrdstone. Skrikit darted in followed by the Festearing Pikes, and was it not for the arrival of Raziel and his Ghouls, they would have raided the place. With Skrikit down at the Vampire's feets, Izkit turned his tail back, and the rest of the Hold Rats followed suit.
The day after Skrikit, increasingly suspicious of the claw-armed Black Skaven's intentions, looked for the Orcs to have some ravenge. He personally took the Orc captain out (after he had been bogged down by rats and Verminkin, of course) but then the green fires of the Orc shaman sent the Assassin down, and again Izkit ordered the retreat. That was too much, and sure of some under the table deal between the Black Skaven and the Orcs, Skrikit made sure Izkit would remain with the Orcs.
And so it happened that the Nachtjäger sent Izkit to fight Braceface, their champion at the Lock and Quay. The aggressive former flagellant find an opponent matching his very direct approach. The insuing fight was short but brutal and ended up with Izkit release and Braceface leg pulped by his claws. The crowd appreciated the combat, although no one will put it down for the Lock and Quay annual.

Quitch the Sorcerer, his rats and the Night Runners were left behind in order to slow down Raziel's Court approaching from the west. The puny rats and the wildly inaccurate sling-shots proved ineffective and Raziel himself quickly approached. Caressing his newly acquired Grey Seer nail, a potent relic, the Assassin leapt toward the Vampire. His blades proved ineffective against the creeper hide and Raziel quickly dealt with him. A squabble erupted amidst the greenskins, allowing the Merrie Men to target and fell both Black Skavens leading the attack. Quitch, far away from the action, forgot he was now in charge of the warband and without a lead the Vermikins break, dragging the Black Skavens with them.
Skrikit was left in Raziel's clutches and sold to the Quartermaster, who promptly pitted the Assassin against a megalomaniac Goblin. While the runt was, in a rather ridicoulos way trying to work the crowd, Skrikit took aim with his sling, and badly missed. The now enraged Goblin charged and the Assassin jumped back, firing his sling again and again missing.Puzzled by this vile move the goblin lost impetus, allowing Skrikit to countercharge and get rid of him. The crowd booing, Skirkit claimed his prize from the Quartermaster and sneaked away.

What a chump I am! I forgot Quitch is now on Ld7, so I would have stayed in another turn, probably took couple of Phil's model OOA and then be massacred by Raziel. Shame on me!

Quitch the Sorcerer death at the hand of the Blue Moon Tribe, back at the end of Vorgheim, had forced Skrikit to travel to Skavenblight to look for a substitute.

Unfortunately for the Assassin, news of his scarce success in Vercuso had reached the Skaven capital. The Assasin's pledge for a new sorcerer was the chance Clan Eshin's rivals awaited and trough some subtle scheme Clan Pestilens managed to have Skabius, one of its lesser clerics assigned to the Hold Rats.

Filled with anger and ever-suspicious of the newcomer, Skrikit devised a sneaky plan to regain some of his lost prestige: taking battle to the recently returned Ogresuns. Surely the Orc Pirates hadn't had the time to reestablish themselves in Vercuso. And so it was, in fact! Having heard the Ogresuns were looking for a nice spot at Binnacle Yard, Skrikit led the Hold Rat to the area, quickly occupied it and denied it to the greenskins. Even better, Skabius had been taken down by a huge orc!

The brawl with the Ogresuns, however, attracted the attentions of a passing patrol of the Vercuso Watch. While the Hold Rats were returning to their lair at the harbour, the blue-clad man-things were spotted by Scheech, sent ahead scouting. Appearently they wanted to deny passage.

Graar the ratogre, the Festering Pikes and the Nine Fingered were sent to meet them, while Skrikit took the rest of the warband up to the roofs. The man-things managed to take the ratogre and a couple of festering Pikes down, but they couldn't stand against the numbers of the Verminkins and retreated, nearly ignoring the agile figures crawling above their heads.

The moment Skrikit had long been waiting for finally arrived. The blond-haired Marion and a Binnacle Yard ganger had been spotted waiting by the docks, the rest of the Merrie Men boarding the ferry on the other side of the harbour.

The Assassin immediately spreaded his gang through the alleys around the ferry landing. If the Merrie Men wanted to save their cheese they'll have to break through the Hold Rats, and Skrikit was confident they won't.

The Festering Pikes led by Squeech were sent to intercept Marion and the ganger before they could join their companions.

As the ferry ramp was lowered the Merrie Men loosed a volley of arrows, downing a few verminkins and taking Scheech the Nightrunner out. Marion and the ganger closed toward the Festering Pikes, taking one down. Then Skrikit, Izkit the Black Skaven and Graar jumped on board the ferry and started making short work of the man-things.

Squeech and the surviving Festering Pike, on the other side, were unable to deal with the ganger and Marion, who in return nearly felled the Black Skaven.

The Merrie Men downed the ratogre by ganging up on him, but with Skrikit, Izkit and a few verminkin hacking their way through them there was little they can do apart from fleeing.

"Ran-ran, men-things!" screeched Skrikit while a few sling-shots skipped between the men's feet "We got five of your smelly-smelly cheeses!"

The first winter clouds were massing over Vercuso and the Hold Rats were returning to their lair. Skrikit and Izkit were weighing a couple of shards in their paws while approaching the prison tower.

Suddenly, by the other side of the building a halt was shouted. A Watch patrol, returning to their headquarter with some confiscated stolen gooods was approaching.

"Quick-quick, get them and bring me their shiny-shiny stuff!" ordered Skrikit.
The Hold Rats spread around the prison tower in a two pronged attack. Graar charged the Watch ogre and the two brutes started trading blows.

From his vantage point on the Hole in the Wall Inn terrace, Scheech aimed his new bow at the Watch captain and the man-thing fell, a long arrow protuding from his back. At the same time Srikit was taken down by a couple of bobbies.

The man-things cheers quickly turned into a fearful wisper as they saw Graar knocking the Ogre off and turning growling at them. With more deadly arrows raining down on them, the man-things dropped the goods, grabbed the wounded and retreated into the safety of the Prison Tower.

Later that day, Skrikit treated his gang to a visit to the Lock and Quay Inn. A couple of Verminkin placed some well chosen bet and the Assassin was quick in claiming the prizes for him.
With the morning loot they made up for enough money to purchase a few giant rats and some new equipment.
Skrikit sneered as he pictured himself ruling over Vercuso.

I was lucky enough to find the arrows during exploration (triple 4, Fletcher) and roll a new skill for him (guess what I choose? Weapons Expert!)
