The Plague Covenant vs the Ogresuns vs the Redtoof tribe
Lost in the bogs at the Howling Marsh

After many attempts, Malatesta finally managed to predict exactly were the Mermaid Emporium would appear and be there, at the edge of the Howling Marsh, to make good use of the Fulcrum.

And with his great surprise, the first thing he saw were the Ogresuns, scattered across the bogs and unaware of the incoming Redtoof horde.

He also noted a strange figure, the Winds of Magic gathering around him in a familiar way. A way that should no longer be.

For good mesaure he sent a magical warning to the nearby Covenant. Meanwhile, the Forest Goblins surged forward, ganging up against those Ogresuns they could get to.

The Covenant arrived on the scene, but to Malatesta disappointment Skabius quickly stroke a deal with Dredger, the biggest of the Ogresuns' officers. Orcs and Skaven alike strode forward to support the embattled pirates.

Deffgit, Wyrdtoof and Whalebelly led the Ogresuns' countercharge and slammed into the Redteef Chief's spider.

Salty Ogbad and the mysterious figure run to support their other mates.

The goblin countercharged them, bringing both their shaman an their warlock into the fray.

The trio led by Deffgit unsaddled the Chief from his multilegged steed and trumpled him into the ground.

Suddenly a purplish fog raised from the Marsh so quickly and thik that Malatesta could barly see anything.

Shoutings and the splashing of heavy boots on mud could be heard, then the clashing of blades and high-pitched screams and coughing fits.

When the fog lifted suddenly as it had raised, the Ogresuns were nowhere to be seen. The goblins were running away while the Covenant was spoling the fallen ones of their equipment.

"D'you see, Malatesta?" Skabius shouted looking up "Sometime it's better to make a deal with those pirates. And now they own us quite a lot!"

The Plague Covenant vs Odin's Black Orcs vs the Ogresuns
Ambush outside Beffardo

Skabius was scribing down an incantation when Skurv climbed on the desk.
"Master, master!" the diminutive familiar wispered "The pirates have lot of shiny-shiny money! Run-run, the Iron Orcs are getting there too!"
Skabius rolled the scroll and burst up. "it's time for Deffgit to pay back!"

They found the Ogresuns huddled around the ever present Mermaid Emporium, counting their loot. The Norscan orcs were getting there from the Covenant left.

"You dirty bunch of skurvy dogs!" shouted Bilius above the shoulders of the covenant henchmen.
From the Monk back, Skabius added his own "Worth for nothing landlubbers! It's time you pay, or is there some more goblin you have to run away from?".

The insults sorted the desired effect. Not only the crew rushed for the Norscans, the officers joined them rather than running away with their loot.

Fishgutz was so eager to show what he was made of that he charged, alone, the nuttaz.

While the Covenant front rank clashed with the Ogresuns, the Monk Initiates and Malatesta shot at the more distant pirates.

The Initiates didn't find their mark while Luciano couldn't cast his spell.
He couldn't be sure, but it seemed like the Norscans' Windcatcher was responsible for it.
Even more strangely, he looked decidedly different since last time.

As usual, Infectius and Whalebelly took on each other while orcs and skaven fought around them.

The armoured orcs charged on the incoming orc pirates.

Fishgutz was surrounded by the howling nuttaz.

Wyrdtoof run for the Norscans swinging his magical club and pushing Odin away with another spell.

Deffgit, Dredger, Salty and two hands lined up to face the Covenant while Whalebelly finally overcame Infectius.

The nuttaz joined Odin,thrashed Wyrdtoof and started pulling him away from the rest of the Ogresuns.

A scratch from Blisterus' infected dagger was all it took to fell the badly wounded Whalebelly.

Skabius and Bilius led the charge against Deffgit's group.
Frothing and screaming, Bilius swinged his censer and landed it on the unfortunate orc facing him. When the greenish smoke cleared, both were sprawled on the ground on a bed of gleaming warpstone shards.

"These stones will settle your debt, Capt'n!" mocked Skabius over its club, locked with the orc's cutlass.
The Norscans as well seemed happy with the captured Shaman and the loot he was carrying.

Exchanging fiery glances the three warbands backed away from each other.

Skabius turned to Skurv, grinning.
"Get to the Norscans' man-thing and teach him how to sell prisoners!"

Chuckling, the familiar scuttled for the shelter of the Windcatcher's robes.

The Plague Covenant vs the Ogresuns (and Odin's Black Orcs as well!)
Skirmish at Skull Sands (and Lost in the Bogs at the Howling Marsh)

Skabius threw a handful of fell-leave in his cauldron and stirred furiosly.
He had lost two of his most valuable followers in the last two days.

The first to fell had been his pet Infectius.
The thrice-damned Ogresuns had been waiting them, safely entrenched behind a fast moving stream at Skull Sands. Apparently they didin't like the way Skabius collected his money and were looking for revenge.

The Covenant was returning from a succesful ingredient collection. Seeing their way barred they formed in a tight pack and tried to make the most of cover, crossbow bolts darting all around them.

Poxus returned fire with his longbow and one of the orc pirates fell.

The Covenant nearly made it to the stream, just to find Whalebelly running at Infectius, the target of much pirates' shots until that moment.

In a rare display of tactical acumen, the orcs restrained from charging and kept pelting the Covenant.

Festerus run to land his one good arm in support of Infectius.

Bilius led a few henchmen across the stream and into the orc gunline.

Skabius and the few henchmen left kept their heads down and crawled closer to the stream.

The fights went horribly wrong. Bilius censer couldn't find its mark,the orcs just ignoring its smoke and getting hold of the Monk. Meanwhile, Whalebelly's cutlasses made a mess of Infectius.

Skabius called for a retreat, knowing numbers where against the skaven now.
At least, later that night, Bilius made up for his capture.
Sold to the Lock & Quay for a special fight, he worked himself into a raging fury, but let the pit fighter charge him. He dodged all the man-thing's blow and pummelled him repeatedly with the censer, a dense cloud filling the arena. The Monk killed the Pit Fighter, and a few spectators in the bargain, earning himself the title of Censer Bearer.

But the day after, while collecting fell-leave in the Howling Marsh, they found themselves in a vice between the Ogresuns and Odin's can-orcs.

Skabius noted something strange with the Northeners' windcatcher, but after all all man-things looked the same to him, so he just ignored the hidden figure.

The Ogresuns rushed forward, trying to get to grisp with Pustus.

The Black Orcs and their nuttaz ganged up on the Covenant scattered first line and dispatched them.

But then the Dread-rat, that wonderfully mutated creature slumbered forward and bathed them in its fiery breath.

Those skaven secure on elevated positions opened fire with bows and sling, allowing the rest of the Covenant to fall back and regroup.

Even Pustus' lone pursuer was halted, giving the Initiate some hope.

The Black Orcs were retreating, still shocked by the Dread-rat assault, when Malatesta shouted a warning.

But it was too late, just a few skaven managed to duck for cover. The rest had, once again, to serve as targeting practice for the Ogresuns. Pustus got the worst of it, his corpse left behind by the fleeing Covenant.

Skabius damned Malatesta while pulling a prisoner out of his cage.
The Priest was sure the warlock had waited just to see the skaven beaten.
He angrily slid the man-thing's throat and let the warm blood flow into the cauldron.

At least the ingredient collection was going well.
A few more touches and his plague would have been ready, just when the Storm would have reached its peak.

The Plague Covenant vs the Ogresuns
Bounty Hunting on the mountains around the Penitentiary

Big Vera, the infamous owner of Vercuso bounty office, had issued a warning about a bunch of fugitives hiding on the peaks around the Penitentiary. The fact that rumors circulated about a fabled magic item appearing in the same area was more than enough for Skabius to take the Covenant for a mountain trek.

In the pale mist of down of the third day, they spotted the brigands hiding in an isolated tower.

The Covenant halted and issued their first warning. In response a few arrow tips glistened through the windows.

And then came the moking insults of the Ogresuns. The pirates must have followed the same rumors.

Deffgit and Mr Whalebelly darted forward, taking half of the crew away from the rest.

The Covenant advanced sneakly, trying to hide from the crossbow bolts coming from the tower.

Deffgit and Whalebelly took position on a narrow gorge. Safely out of crossbow range they challenged the skaven to come forward. Their party followed, close behind.

The other Ogresuns get closer to the tower, getting shelter behind a rocky outcrop.

The Covenant took position on the other side of the gorge while trying to stay out of sight from the tower.

Unseen by both the brigands and the orcs, Blisterus and Poxus opened fire against Deffgit and Whalebelly, taking the Kommodore down.

Enraged at seeing his old mate down, Whalebelly barreled forward, but the rocky ground slowed him down.

Nastyface lined up the rest of the crew and added their fire to the brigand's one.

Although having lost a few henchmen, Skabius' relic filled the Covenant of courage and they charged the group led by Whalebelly.

Bilius' censer landed on the massive ogre, downing him. The fumes were too much for Bilius, but Skabius took the chance and gave Whalebelly a good payback for taking Infectius' life.

Dredger and the orcs with him managed to stem the Covenant henchmen assault.

But then Skabius, Bilius and one of his Disciples charged in and get rid of all the orcs.

Nastyface and his group, peppered by brigands' bolts and distant from the rabid skaven, considered their options and run away.

Taking the brigands' hideout was easy work then.

Skabius considered the amount of loot the man-things had stashed and quickly realized there was enough to pay for a revitalization treatment for Infectius.

And then Bilius emerged from the cave he had fall in coughing after the charge on Whalebelly.
He was encased in a heavy plate mail encrusted with glowing runes.

The Plague Covenant vs Odin's Black Orcs
The Thing in the Woods of Ragil

The revitalization treatment for Infectius, costly as it had been, had worked well. The albino brute opened the Covenant column as they ventured into the woods of Ragil.

In his search for ingredients, Skabius had heard of some foul, warped creatures infesting those woods. Their blood or shards of claw might well add a particular twist to his plague.

But the Norscan Black Orcs seemed to be after the same prey. Once again, their Windcatcher attracted Skabius and Malatesta attention, just to be forgotten a moment later.

The nuttaz spotted one of the creatures lurking in the thick vegetation and run screaming in its direction.

The Thing retreated into the deep of the wood and the mad orcs turned to the Covenant.

Two of the smallest orcs run for the cover of a palisade meant to keep the creatures away from the village.

Another creature jumped out of the wood on the Covenant's right flank and slammed onto the Dread-rat.

The Covenant left the mutated ratogre to deal with the Thing and closed towards the Black Orcs.

Poxus stood behind and unleashed a volley of crossbow bolts on the nuttaz, downing one.

Seeing their comrade down and the skaven first line preparing their slings, the Black Orcs cowered behind the palisade.

Infectius rushed for a nutta more than willing to meet him.

The Dread-rat managed to wound the creature but was knocked-over in return.

Odin brutally restored order amongst the insubordinated smaller orcs, then led the countercharge on Infectius.

But he got more than expected. The ratogre stood to them and stunned one, earning time for Bilius to lead the Festering Pikes into the melee.
When the smoke of his censer cleared, Odin stood alone, surronded by skaven.

Then the second creature bursted from the woods and attacked the nutta that had been left behind.

The Dread-rat regained its footing, only to be felled again.

Odin managed to cut through the skaven surrounding him and made for safety, quickly followed by the rest of his band.

Mokingly, one of the Festering Pikes grabbed a black hood from the mud and threw it at the fleeing orcs.

"Run-run, green-things! This'll help hiding your faces, yes-yes!"

The Plague Covenant vs the Ogresuns
Wyrdstone Hunt on the Plain of Caprio

It had been a long journey from Ragil to Caprio, but finally the plain opened in front of the Covenant.

As usual, however, someone else stood on their way. The Ogresuns didn't seem to have learnt their lesson.

Skabius urged his minions forward and they nearly made it to the lumps of warpstone that had coalesced in the middle of the valley.

Dredger took a small party into a good shooting position. Whalebelly and Deffgit, predictably, run ahead eager to cross their cutlasses with the skaven.

In a display of verminous valour, a Festering Pike and an Infected Blade jumped ahead, grabbed the warpstone and run back behind a sandy dune.

The rest of the Covenant took position on either side of the dune, challenging the orcs to get past them.

The Ogesuns came forward while Whalebelly rediscovered the pleasure of facing Infectius.

Dredger and his ladz opened fire on the skaven running with the warpstone, but the two managed to dive behind cover.

Infectius vented his anger for having being killed and ignoring the stunned brute charged another orc pirate. The Covenant joined him.

Malatesta was sure to have seen a most unnerving figure across the swirling melee. He left the skaven dealing with the orcs and looked for a better point of view.

Festerus run his knife across Whalebelly's throat. The Ogre won't be a problem for quite a long time. Meanwhile, Skabius summoned the Horned One's pestilence.

Chocking because of Bilius' censer fumes and in pain for Skabius' pestilence, the Ogresuns were nearly wiped out.

From the rickety bridge, Malatesta saw the orcs being run down. And Caboteur watching in despair at the scene.

"Damn you, Caboteur! You escaped death once, I'll make sure it won't happen again!"

The Plague Covenant vs Odin's Black Orcs
Chance Encounter on the road to Vercuso

In the fading light of dusk, Skabius looked at the shambling silouette of the troll.
It took him the whole day to track and bind one, but now he had the source for the last few ingredients needed for his plague.

The allarmed squealing of his minions snatched the Plague Priest from his dreams of power.
They had nearly stumbled on the Norscan Black Orcs.

Skabius reacted quickly, stealing the initiative from Odin. He sent Infectius, the Dread-rat and the troll ahead while charching the sling-armed henchmen to Malatesta and Poxus.

The two took the group on a good shooting position and opened fire. Malatesta sent one of the heavily armoured orcs to the ground and Poxus hit a large figure hidden in the vegatation.

Odin slapped a vociferous orc and the boy bursted forward to regain his master's favour.
A swords-wielding ogre crushed out of the vegetatation and into the troll. The two brutes traded blows, both unable to beat their opponent. While the Norscan closed distance with the Skaven a frothing orc caped in a black hood vented his fury on his fallen comrade.

The orcs having fall short in their attempt to reach the Skaven, Skabius ordered a series of multiple charges while safely staying back and calling for the purulent gift of the Horned Rat.

The Dread-rat belched flames on the unarmoured orcs and one fell to them. A few more, including Odin himself, bent coughing as the Horned Rat blessed them.

Bilius smashed away Olaf and then fell to the fumes of his own censer.

Festerus and an Infected Blade ganged-up on the ogre, leaving him exposed to the troll attack. Its vomit burnt trough the ogre's armour and the brute fell.

Blisterus tried to prove himself against two opponents but was easily dispatched.

Anyway, with their leader sensless and a good half of their companions sprawled on the ground, the standing orcs realised it was time for yet another retreat.

Skabius knelt down where the ogre had stood and filled a flask with some troll vomit.
A few more warptone shards to go into the cauldron and his plague would have been good.
It would have been perfect once he could have channeled the power of the Storm into it.

The Plague Covenant vs the Ogresuns & the Redtoof Tribe
"Street" Brawl in the deep jungle

Just after routing the Norscans, the Covenant stumbled upon a column of refugees escaping from the fury of the Storm.
Skabius ordered them to be killed, but the diminuitive Skurv suggested to save a few to be questioned.
The familiar had it right, as the man-things mentioned a ruin they passed. A ruin which looked a lot like the legendary Al-Aziz's palace. Exactly the kind of magic-imbued place where Skabius could have completed his plague.

So, the following day the Covenant ventured deep into the jungle to find the Palace.

From the top of a rocky arc, Poxus spotted the Ogresuns huddled around an orcish idol and the Redteef creeping through the jungle.

The greenskins looked suspiciously friendly, and even more worring, both warbands had some big creatures following them. Skabius didn't waste a moment and moved toward the more dangerous Ogresuns. Poxus braced his crossbow and let loose a couple of bolts, but to no avail.

The Ogresuns came forward, an over-filthy ratogre opening their column.

So did the Redteef, their boss well ahead and a strange-looking bird shumbling on the rear.

They were cooperating and trying to encircle the Covenant, so Infectius was sent forward to deal with the Ogresuns' ratogre.

Caboteur unleashed a storm of lightining against the Covenant and scattered their first line.

The Redteef advanced a little more, their hungry bird joining the boss.

Skabius led the second line against the Ogresuns and unleashed the Horned One's pestilence.

Suddenly, the Dread-rat went crazy and charged Festerus. Luckly for the Monk, the mutated creature only managed to stun him.

The Redteef prodded the huge bird, and the enraged beast charged the Filthy Staves, instantly killing one.

The feathered goblins unleashed a volley of arrows, more Skaven and Malatesta fell.

Bilius started reciting the Liturgicus Infecticus and the Covenant fought with renovated fury, routing the Ogresuns and then turning against the Redteef.

Skabius spell get rid of the more distant goblins and with the help of the now sane Dread-rat of the hungry bird.
Bilius and Infectius joined their efforts, and once the censer smoke cleared both the goblin Boss and his multi-legged steed were down.

Their fury not yet seeted, Bilius and Infectius carried on onto the goblins recovering from Skabius' spell.

Skabius chuckled while the goblins panicked and run away. So long for the green-things alliance!

What he didn't notice was Malatesta waking up, an enormous bruise where his forehead had hitten a rock.
"Who are you?" the wizard stuttered at the closest skaven.
"What am I doing here? I can't...I can't recall. But at least you're not any of Caboteur's lot. I have a proposal for you...".

The Grand Finale
Battle for Al-Aziz's Palace

The rusty gates to Al-Aziz's Palace swung in the storming Winds.

Ghostly figures drifted through the vegetation, moaning as they felt the scent of fresh souls approaching.

The ruins of the Palace themself sat broadly on top of a flat hill, like a spider patentiently awaiting for its prey.

High on warpstone brew, the Plague Covenant approached the ruins ignoring the howling spirits. Skabius sent Poxus up a rock with the only order of sniping at every wizard that was not on their side.

Neither the Ogresuns seemed to worry about the tormented souls moving around them.

The Red Toof Tribe creeped forward prodding their huge bird.

Odin's Black Orcs arrived on the scene beating their shields.

They suddenly fell silent as the Windcatcher's features blurred and shifted.
As they settled into a multi-armed, hooded figure, the Norscan started chanting a single word: Tzork

There was a sudden movement inside Al-Aziz's Palace as three goblins made their way to the surface from some hidden dungeon.

The Ogresuns filed up toward the hill, shouting abuses at the little greenskins.

The Norscan rushed forward, their chanting to Tzork even louder than the pirates' abuses. But suddenly the wood they were circling came to life and moved to envelop them.

The Redteef run forward to their mates help.

Infectius and the Covenant's troll climbed up the hill to find the Bilge Rat and a very drunken Deffgit awaiting for them.

Wary of the dangers posed by the wood themselves, the Ogresuns advanced slowly behind their leader.

The Black Orcs disentagled themselves from the eldritch wood finding themselves scattered and with the nuttaz running howling at the slowest pirates.

The Red Toof chief arrived on the hill and ordered one of the goblins hiding in the ruin to charge the Bilge Rat while the angry bird slammed onto the Covenant's troll.

The rest of the goblins loose their arrows at the Dread-rat as it was slowly approaching them.

The Covenant arrived on the hill and a huge fight ensued. The two ratogres clashed, the troll and the bird continued their struggle, with skaven, orcs and goblins each supporting their large creatures.

Skabius' pestilence took its toll both in orcs and goblins, but it was not enough to avoid Infectius being felled by Deffgit.

On the other side of the hill, close to the pumpkin field, a fight erupted between the nuttaz and some pirates.

But the more sensible Norscans grouped with the pirates and prepared to join the fight on the other side of the Palace.

The Red Toof Chief goaded its spider against Skabius.

The massed combat escalated as more orcs and skaven joined in and Infectius rose up again.

From his rocky perch, Poxus had already downed Caboteur and the Red Toof shaman. He was aiming at Wyrdtoof when a sudden gale put the rock into motion. Unprepared, the sniper lost his footing and plummeted down.

The fight in the pumpkin field continued, the orcs on both sides enjoying the bash.

So did the combat in the Palace. Skabius and his henchmen managed to fell both the Red Toof Chief and his spider, but Festerus was unable to save the badly wounded Infectius.

Igor spied the combat through the Palace door and repared to join into the fray.

Meanwhile, sneakely staying away, the Redtoof' warlock turned himself into a feral bear.

Igor sprung into action supported by Olaf. The two hulking orcs trashed Skabius as he was drawing breath after the fight with the spider.

A brave goblin dared to charge the Dread-rat. The monster carelessly smeared him against a wall.

And then throw itself onto the Black Orcs while the Covenant rushed forward to protect Malatesta from the pirates.

An eldritch lightining hit the palace and the corpse of a long dead adventurer rose to drag Noggin to the ground.

The Covenant henchmen finally managed to kill the Bilge Rat, but then another heavy weight get in. Growling and snorting the Norscans' spawn raged against the Dread-rat.

The bloodshed in the pumpikin field attracted the attentions of Bloodskull Deathbringer.

The Bloodletter charged one of the nuttaz as he was trying to join the fight in the Palace.

But Khork (or possibly Tzork) was pleased with the madened orc and the daemon was banished.

Attacked on all side, the Covenant numbers were quickly going down. Worse of all, the rear ranks of the Redteef turned Malatesta into a pin-cushion.

Their wizard, confident in his bear form and in the fact that the Skaven were no longer a threat, rushed into the Palace. Only to be smacked down by an enraged Wyrdtoof waving a club of green light.

Odin led the Norscan against Wyrdtoof while the Boarwolf gorged on the fallen human warlock. Savouring victory, the Changeling floated to the upper floor.

The nuttaz continued their rampage through the rear ranks of the Ogresuns.

Noggin and the Nogs kept the Redteef out of the Palace.

But some managed to sneak in along with the few surviving Skaven. One even managed to reach the Changeling, in spite of the cunning daemon having drawn away the only ladder up.

The fight raged in the Palace.
Although surrounded, Wyrdtoof didn't yeld to the Black Orcs.
The Changeling danced around the skaven avoiding his blades.
The Boarwolf slashed at skaven and goblins alike.

And so it was that when the Storm finally released all its fury, no wizard was able to use the Palace arcane structure to channel the Winds power.

The ghosts darted from the woods to the ruin clawing at the fighters.
A whirlwind of magic scourged the hill scattering orcs, goblins and skaven all around.

Skabius came to his senses to witness the havok. And to catch a fleeting glimpse of the Tower of Nakh as it materialised close to Al-Aziz's Palace and was then blown away by the Winds.

As the Winds abated, the Plague Priest cursed the greenskins. They had robbed him of his chance to rise to greatness in Skavendom.
But at least he had achieved more than any other Skaven in Sartosa. And his plague, altough not perfect, was enough to buy him a place of influence in Skavenblight.
