With a view to trying out the new Ogre book and its funky toys Blessed Knight set up a game with his latest empire list againt a test Ogre list i set up. for once i am using skrag as my lord choice but no gorgers. I wanted to get him into combat quickly and start racking up the special skills.

we are playing a standard pitched battle with 10 pieces of scenery all pretty normal except for the swamp and the much forgotten sorcerous portal.

I line up my two ironblasters on the right flank

my battle line set up with a unit of ogre bulls with ironfists giving me a chance to get some parry saves in,
as well as a large unit of ironguts and 8 leadbelchers.

The ironblasters are hiding from his cannons on the hill opposite with a nice large building inbetween

the rest of Lee's army is a couple of units of inner circle knights backed up by 3 big handgunner units, completely tooled up with snipers.

I get first turn and move forward inviting the charge from his knights, my leadbelchers roll 6 for shots and manage to shootdown 10 handgunners on his generals unit. my magic fails a bit and does very little.
my Iron blasters shoot out and the first shot is near perfect killing one cannon and taking two wounds of the next, the next shot however over shoots. his remaining cannon in return manages to hit one of the iron blasters killing it outright with 6 wounds. His handgunners do 5 wounds on my leadbelchers killing one and wounding another.

In my second turn the gnoblars charge his knights hoping for a some lucky kills, which they get but they also lost 4 gnoblars losing combat by 1 and turning tail from the knights who restrain.

Skrags unit marches forward so im just at long range from his handgunners offering the knights an option to charge, with the bulls on skrags left, my leadbealchers move forward another 6 inches opening up again with only 3 shots each but still manage 5 kills on his handgunners.
Lee's knights charge the bulls who decide to hold and test their mettle, which fails and they are run down by the knights after losing combat by 4.
The leadbelchers are shot up by lee's handgunners and also turn tail. Leaving skrags unit in the open.

Lee charges the stonehorn and lose three knights due to failed dangerous terrain in combat the hunter challenges the unit and the Grand Master steps up causing 2 wounds to my 1, he wins combat but i hold.
My thundertusk counter charges the flank and as the grandmaster cuts down the hunter i cut down some knights just losing combat, causing the ironhorn to run off leaving the thundertusk in combat.

The thundertusk kills all the knights leaving the bsb and the grandmaster who decide they dont want to fight the monsters and run off the bsb dying as he flees leaving the grandmaster alone

no-one sticks a thundertusk in a corner...

skrags unit attempts the charge the handgunners and fails and lee's knights turn in preperation to charge, not realising that my leadbelchers manage to rally and turn back towards the fray.

skrag charges the generals unit and in combat the mighty slaughterer causes 4 wounds and with many more wounds from the ironguts the lone general flees and is run down.

with skrags unit out of charge range the knights march forward, taking the fight to the enemy.
shots run out and more ironguts fall, shockingly the stonetusk rally's and although is stupid also makes his stupidity roll managing to bring himself back into the game.

Lee's remaining cannon is left alone by remaining ironblaster who is enjoying shooting lee's lone grandmaster taking him out of the game. but the cannon manages an almost perfect shot on the skrags unit, which scrag regens but he loses three ironguts. skrag turns to face the knights and hand gunners awaiting the charge, but Lee decides to shoot instead.

The leadbelchers move forward and shoot another 2 shots each at the handgunners, killing 4 enough to cause a panic check but they hold. my ironblaster attempts to copy the success of the empire cannon but his shot goes wild.
my rallied gnoblars charge the mortar taking it out. giving them a moment of glory.

The stonehorn again makes his stupidity test who opt to stand and shoot and then seeing the thundertusk also charging decide to turn and run, but the stonehorn is up for revenge and rolling a mighty 11 the handgunners are charged down.

skrag charges the handgunners, but fluffs his attacksin a challenge against the handgunner champion only causuing 2 wounds losing combat as well as frenzy. but remains in the fight, he is charged from behind by the knights and skrag again challenges the unit, the unit champion steps up and wounds the might slaugterer but skrag does enough damage and hold in combat.

At the end of the game despite looking for most of the game that i was being thrashed my amazingly lucky rally checks and stupity checks allowed my army back into the game, giving me a shock victory. The stonehorn and thundertusks are my heroes of the game. I have heard a lot of negative things about the stone horn but in the two games i have played against Lee i have been more than happy with them.
Leadbelchers also are amazingly good now, and points for points i prefer them to mournfangs.

Leadbelchers are very nasty now. not sure if a single super unit, or 2-3 small units of 3-4 may be better.
The 2 biggies are both annoying especially with the bolt throwers skewering units as they move to charge range.

It'd be interesting to see how they cope against other combat armies.

I believe the leadbelchers are supposed to roll a d6 for each model firing rather than once for the unit and multiply by how many models there are. There is no rule that I can find which says that you just roll once, and the multiple shot rules are generally in the singular. Certainly for flamers (which are the only other unit I can think of with a unit of variable multiple shot creatures) you roll separately for each flamer.
