A sudden blaze of green fire boiled silently in the blackness and spat out an assorted swarm of ramshackle ships. Some tumbled out of control for a few minutes, thrown pin-wheeling into realspace by the maelstrom of the warp, others glided gracelessly but steadily towards the sunburned sphere below. Engines ignited throughout the fleet and slowly the ships sorted themselves into a kind of order, gathered together around the largest among them: the Space Hulk known as Rokkdroppa.

In a swirling cloud of dust and smoke the smaller (but still huge) ships of the armada set down heavily outside the sprawling hodgepodge Ork fortress-city of MudRig on a cracked and rock-strewn desert. Hydraulic motors whined and gears ground unpleasantly as a large ramp lowered from the underside of a Krooza. Heavy-booted Orks stomped down the ramp on the hard-packed dirt. Among them was a Warboss with a peaked officer’s cap, a long coat and a distinctive metal head (recently grafted onto the body of a decapitated Warboss): Warboss Kurgan Ironhead and the Fifty Fiff Bad Redz Brigade were back on Jurn.
Over the next hour hordes of trukks, buggies, bikes, crude walkers, and wagons of all shapes and sizes were unloaded from the many hatches and holds of the massive space craft and driven into MudRig.

Kurgan’s plan was to get to grips with the Vindicators as soon as possible and Klaw them up, then the Boyz were to get into combat with the Marines’ heavy weapon and tactical squads. The Rhinos would be their next targets. But like all his plans it wouldn’t survive contact with the enemy.
"Cummon Ladz!” roared Hogzagga, “I wanna test me new Gizmo."
The Ork bikers were left in a cloud of Dust as their Nob gunned his engine and sped forward.
“Speed-Klaw-Happy” said one of them with a grin, the rest of them raced after Hogzagga.
The two forces arrived at the titan at roughly the same time.

Blood Axe Orks poured into the Valley, a dome of crackling green energy covered their advance. Alcant could make out some Trukks that looked familiar and gave the order to fire.
Las cannons tore into the Ork vehicles causing explosions amongst the tightly packed Orks, Warboss Kurgan’s armoured trukk lost a wheel and slid to a halt. The shield flickered and fizzed momentarily then returned to its solid protective glow.
The scout speeder screamed over the ridge and shot into the mass of Kans. The blast impacted on the fuel cell of the lead Kan which exploded into the unfortunate Mek’s face. In a storm of small explosions the force field collapsed. The scouts were quickly overwhelmed and slaughtered by the enraged Orks of Gobthug’s platoon but they had done well: The Orks were now unprotected. Gobthug’s Boyz charged the Landspeeder and the Nob’s Power Klaw smashed it from underneath; the speeder ploughed into the ground and slid to a halt with black smoke pouring from a huge slash in its hull.
The gears on the warlord slowly shifted its cannon to aim along the calculated trajectory of an approaching trukk and fire as it reached the target point with a blast that punched clean through the trukk, snapped it in two and sent the two halves spinning across the battlefield.
As the Orks faltered at the renewed attack, the Assault marines took the initiative and charged the warbikes whilst the Vindicators supported their Flank.
The battle raged for hours with many Demolisher shells landing amongst the Orks. But as night fell once more the battle had descended into house-to-house warfare as the remaining Orks passed into the Hive, taking two parts of the Pulsa Rokkit with them.

From his position above the Battle Princeps Calross noticed one group of Orks being herded into the hive by Painboyz and Meks. Cycling the sensors to maximum magnification he could make out crude, low-tech forms of cybernetics and tools. Streaming the Data to the Precinct house in the Mancunius Falls Sector of the hive, he started to power up the Titan and ready it for battle once more.

One hundred and forty kilometers south of the hive, on a road flanked on the right by the Dothan Hills and the left by the Shamash Plains, a convoy of mismatched ramshackle vehicles thundered along in a cloud of dust and exhaust fumes. Two trukks, two gunwagons, a Battlewagon and a swarm of bikes rumbled over the hard-packed stone and dirt track, each one festooned with jeering, boisterous Orks packed onto flatbed passenger compartments or clinging on to grab-rails on the outside of the wagons.
As the convoy descended into a valley scattered with stunted scrubby trees the leading trukk swerved off the road suddenly – the Boyz on board scrabbled for weapons as Durgaz, signaled the rest of the company. His distorted metallic voice crackled out of the speaker in every vehicle.
“Enemy contact Boss! There’s a bunch of blue Rhinos and a Defiler lurkin’ in the woods on the right!”
The Warboss immediately stood up in the back of his armoured trukk and pointed at the enemy’s position: the convoy veered off the road, changing from line-ahead formation to line-abreast in practiced Blood Axe style. The Bikers raced on and motored off the road further ahead, skirting behind a densely wooded area. Skarfang’s Boyz jumped off the gunwagons they had been riding (as the tanks slowed to get into position behind a low hill) then sprinted into the nearest wood, where they discovered a twisted pile of scrap metal and electrical components: Possibly the remains of some vehicle that crashed long ago, but definitely worth a few teef to the Mekboyz!

Boomgun shells rained down upon the Chaos lines as they advanced. The Bad Redz had fought this type before, spooky empty shells of powered armour that walked around even though there was no humie inside. They gave the Orks the heebie-jeebies but at least they fell over when you put a few bullet holes in 'em!
Their huge daemon-powered walker stalked into the ruined building containing some sort of Chaos warp-artifact, hardly pausing to fire its cannon at the approaching Ork Battlewagon. The massive shell clanged as it ricocheted off the wagon’s heavily armoured prow and exploded harmlessly in the ground beside it, showering the hull with shrapnel.
The Ork trukks slewed and swerved as they raced across the open ground between them and an approaching Chaos Rhino. As soon as they skidded to a halt the Orks on board bailed out and hit the ground running. Durgaz’s activated his Power Klaw and led his platoon forward yelling and bawling as they assaulted the Defiler.

The Warboss and his Nobz Mob bodyguard were assaulted by a squad of Raptors and their Chaos Lord and, though they big Orks suffered heavy casualties, enough of them survived to beat off the attack and fall back into the (now empty) trukk that formerly belonged to Durgaz.
The bikers appear on the far left flank and blast away at a dismounted Marine squad. They gun down a couple and assault but get slaughtered.
The trukkers slowly got beaten down but do a fair amount of damage to the Defiler, immobilising it and ripping off a claw, but the Chaos Dreadnought attacked them, spewing heavy flamer fuel over the Orks, then stomped them into the dirt as they fled. As soon as the Defiler was free of the attacking Orks Gobthug’s platoon jumped out of the Battlewagon and ran behind it, launched two Rokkits into its exposed belly: The daemon-engine exploded.
The Battlewagon revved its engines and powered toward the Dreadnought, smashing into it at almost red-paint full speed. The un-braced Chaos war-machine tried to shoot the massive tank as it bared-down but was smashed off its feet by the grinning-maw prow; its limbs were twisted, crushed and mangled by the tracks of the wagon.
Reality warped and stretched and a group of Daemons appeared near the Defiler as Chaos Marines and Raptors descended on Gobthug’s Boyz. The melee in and around the building grew in size and intensity as the Chaos forces desperately tried to shift the greenskins from the warp-artifact.
On the left flank the marines mounted up again and drove at full speed towards the wood were Skarfang and his small mob were digging in around their loot. Seeing the threat the Warboss shouted at his original trukk and ordered it to block the Rhino’s path! The Rhino attempted to ram the new roadblock, slamming into the flank of the trukk and crumpled its side armour-plating, but it did not have enough momentum to move the transport more than a couple of feet.
The Battlewagon and the Warboss’s trukk raced towards the warp-artifact building were the Defiler’s ruined hulk sat smoking, just as the last of Gobthug’s platoon fled.

The Fifty Fiff Bad Red Brigade had held the scrap pile and prevented the Chaos Marines from taking the warp-artifact, while giving the Marines a comprehensive battering.
