First game I was drawn against a daemon player that I'd played at Carnage and was quite looking forward to a rematch. Unfortunately two of the spanish lads had been drawn against each other on the table next to us......they all booked in at the same time so why did they get the same table...whatever. So i end up playing spanish dark eldar.

So that's 15 dark lances and 6 dissies and some blasters if they get close...lol. WIn first turn and go first, regardless of loot counters. Fuck that, I ain't getting 15 dark lances in my face. He then puts all his fast stuff in reserve and starts with 56 warriors on the table. By the time he gets to turn 2, he doesn't have much left. He then only gets the raiders on and they die. Everything else turns up on turn 3, doesn't do much, dies, reavers charge kroot, kill them then plasma'd in the face and everything dead start turn 5. Half hour game mark 1.

Draw mission with spearhead deployment....oh joy. 5th ed really does my head in as sometimes I feel the best result you can get is a draw and I hate playing for draws as its just gay. Maybe I should have deployed right at the back of my deployment and got an extra turn of shooting at the LRs..instead i don't. He moves them forward, pops smoke and does nothing with lascannons. I shuffle back a bit (lol not moving > 6" dumbass), markerlights hit once and he makes three cover saves on 5+ or something...argh!! I try and bait him from my objective by moving a fish and deathrains away, he takes it, kills them all...gay. Other raider moves forward, disgorges termies and libby. Libby avengers some kroot, kills three, they run off, kills two pathfinders, they run off, LR fires a MM, kills a railhead, termies charge the other, kill that. Lol (think it was 15 attacks,14 hits or something ridiculous). balls. Last couple of turns can be summed up pretty quick. Two turns of shooting from the broadsides, 6 fireknives and a load of kroot shooting yields two dead termies...Lucky bit he charges my big crisis squad with the libby and the libby gets stomped! Yay for VPs!

This has the potential to be the most ridiculous game I have ever played and if I ever needed evidence of a dice god hating me, this was it.
He's never played tau, has no idea what anything does, his first gt, etc. So i decide to be mr nice guy, tell him what everything does, not be a dick and be generally nice.

That's it. If I kill his raider and make him walk, I win. Dawn of war kill points. I go first, deploy some kroot forward to send his Ts and PMs right to the back and be way out of the action. Kroot then run back. Rather than skulk at the back, I move on and sit a bit further foward then maybe i should. He moves on, i remind him he can run if he wants to and does he want to pop smoke if he wants to...might as well then! Pathfinders suck ass, hit once, broadsides pen it, he makes both cover saves on a 5+ or something. Other shooting does f all. Good start. He moves forward, lashes the kroot into range, abaddon wounds himself but the bezerkers kill the kroot. Ok they're now in rapid plasma range....again the pathfinders cock up, 3 hits. +1 bs and -2 cover to the zerkers and abbadon. Big squad then rapid fires them. So that's 6 plasma on 3's, 2 plasma on 2's, 6 missiles on 3's and 2 missiles on 2's. This translates to two 6+ cover saves and 8 armour saves on the zerkers and one inv on abaddon.....he makes them all.....errr what. Other fireknives shoot them, no cover two die from plasma, all saves made. Kroot rapid fire, railguns, sms etc all shoot them and the other two zerkers die. Well that was crap.
Abaddon fluffs his daemon weapon again against the fish lol. Oblits arrive, do nothing. my turn of shooting. All the crisis rapid fire abbadon for two turns....one wound taken...lash prince charges the other kroot and in two rounds of combat actually dies!! Oblits MM the other railhead, explosion catches three broadsides...all wound...all fail....what...
Eventually Abaddon falls over to the third straight round of plasma in his face but he kills the railhead. Broadsides kill the oblits and after 4 turns its a draw. My pathfinders will probably die to TS but if i kill three PMs with fireknives its a draw....can i fuck! Passes a lot of saves again on him (w/o even going to ground) and I'm losing 5-4 on 5th turn. Typically his mate rolls a 2 and it ends.....as a loss when he's got 6 models left..argh!! Cock.
Played Bob later that night and massacred him in four turns or something daft....should have asked the refs if that could count!

Kills points spearhead so i do what i should have done before, sit at the back, shoot the piss out of them.
I go first, shoot a pred autocannon off and kill a few marines. His turn, tries to get one ass squad and the combat squad on. Ass squad drops in front of my castle and combat squad tries to go the other side. Tries and mishaps....so that'll be a 2 and bye bye pain in the ass unit. Shooting does nothing.
Fireknives shoot the termies,kill two with markerlights lol. Broadsides smoke a pred. Reserves dont turn up, termies walk towards me, kill a couple of kroot.
Turn 3, castle rapid fires the termies and vapes them. Broadsides make the dread disappear and railhead nukes a pred. Going well. Termies turn up, mishap AGAIN (going balls out) and go back in reserve. Shooting does nothing again (shooting railheads with autocannons at 48"?!).
Turn 4 railguns pwn tanks, shoot the marines dead bar the rocket. Termies turn up, mishap AGAIN, die on a 2. Railgun shoots marine in the face, game over.
Half hour start to the sunday.....shame its a 3 1/2 hour wait til next game!!

Quickest game I've ever played (thanks to no terrain bar those stupid desert woods that my kroot love). Broadsides nuke Big G's trukk. Next turn they nuke the meganob trukk. First two turns of other shooting killed something like 41 orks.....turn 5 he has three nobs in his nob squad left and one other nob, I've lost two kroot to big shootas....Get another turn and wipe out. So that was 20 min deploy and 30 mins game....err yeah.

So unless i nail him hard first turn of shooting, i get out shot and out assaulted.....smooth! He deploys one squad in a raider with hte archite, i've deployed some kroot to push him back but not that much. Oh and theres a building in the middle and thats about it for decent terrain to hide behind.
First turn my army moves on the table, fail every night fight test to shoot his HQ (6 tests to roll 9 FFS). I don't close my circle well enough. His army all moves on 24" into the middle,crap. Statring unit moves full forward, HQ gets out, rolls 5" fleet and assaults 12" into one of my suit units...woops.
Second turn and i've got 8 skimmers iwth cover to kill...yeah right. Kroot kill his archite with rapid fire at least. Shooting drops 4 of his raiders, killing a few wyches here and there. Not good enought I think! Would have been worse but for one railhead killing two raidersin one shooting phase lol. He then moves and assaults me. It hurts.
My third turn and i have broadsides, unit of kroot, FWs in fish, half a railhead and some pathfinders.....ow. If i can kill his troops i can win. Or draw at least. Pathfinders fail to even hit the wyches 1" in front of them (8 shots FFS). Railhead lasts til for the entire six turns somehow, he only has left 3 wyches on one objective and 3 on a contested one. Oh and the ravagers. So i pretty much got boned.
I think if it had been either spearhead or pitched battle deployment, first turn shooting would have destroyed him but I guess thats what 5th ed does really.
