A grim battle between two Mighty Pirate Lords. On the one side, my Patron, Prospero of Roba. on the other, the grim visage of his former Sartosan ally The Orc warboss Kurgan. We fought through the ruins of the old magical academy for the Celestial college and the fey powers did swirl like banshees in the dead of night. Foul shapes surged through the foul mists as the Orc Horde rumbled into view like a fetid Tsunami bent on destruction and plunder.

The Riflemen of Monte Castello had deployed on a wide front knowing full well that Kurgan was a direct sort of Pirate (And thats saying something for an Orc!)

Our Rifles proved true, hewing through the enemy waves like a fleet of Elven battleships traversing perfect seas. The brave knights of Roba stirred their mounts as they plunged into and through the nearest opponents, as brave militia braved the ruins to break the orc advance.

I myself soared into the air seeking my muse, for battle is only worthwhile if some form of profit can be made, be it fiscal or simply Art.

As the Orc Pirates Crested the Ruins of the central Vaults, I siezed my chance. Forming the elements the mighty powers descended onto the largest of the Orc units. Several ranks were caught in the Grip of my latest artwork as they slowly turned to Gold in front of Kurgans amazed eyes.

Now as many a Tilean will tell you, Pirates love Gold. And Orc pirates Love Gold more than most and The Dreaded Pirate Kurgan is the worst of the Lot.

As whole sections of his army broke ranks and abandoned their carefully laid plans. (Charge, Kill, loot) Kurgan had to face the facts that the Tide had turned against him and signalled the remnants of his army to return to the Hogwasher...But not before taking a Goblin who had gotten caught in my glorious magics first.

The last we saw was the warlord running into the mists with two small golden legs sticking out under one arm.

The Luccini Job

The Ironfangs battle Prospero of the Golden Company in the ancient city in a hasty attack.

“I dun’t like this weird local food Boss” said Grognog “all source an’ no meat. This bready stuff is ‘orrible ‘an all.”

“Don’t worry about it Mr Grognog” said Adm’rul Grimjaw distractedly “we probably won’t be around long. Quick spot of looting and back to see I’d say.”

Grognog nodded and went back to wolfing down his over-filled plate of food.

The Adm’rul looked up from the table where his officers (if they could be called that) were eating and enjoying the evening sunshine. He stared out over the rolling hillsides of Luccini; olive trees and vineyards interspaced with whitewashed walls and terracotta tiled roofs bathed in the orange light of a spectacular sunset. Sitting outside an inn towards the southern edge of the city the next hill obscured the city centre but a great pall of smoke could be seen rising over the town.

Kurgan scratched his pointy-bearded chin and squinted at the distant vista. Something odd about it intrigued him but he couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was. The air seemed to shimmer and shift oddly.

“Humph; Magic.”

Magical energies arced and crackled between the pillars of the Arcane Monuments that peppered the battlefield. Shaman Murlok struggled alone to counter the barrage of spells that the enemy wizards conjured.

The Ironfangs had rushed to attack the ancient ruins when they had received reports from their Goblin scouts that the powerful Golden Company wizard Midas Ar Manann was using the monoliths to channel vast amounts of power from the Winds of Magic. The Pirates didn’t like the idea of the Company having that kind of advantage so they decided to nip it in the bud before they could establish a stronghold.

The Orc Pirates’ battle line was in disarray as they hurried to the site of the Monoliths and they found the Company troops formed up and ready for them.

The Company’s Handgunners were on particularly good form – their blisteringly accurate volleys took down row after row of Orcs. Rockets sailed through the air and blasted holes in the Pirate’s ranks while cannonballs skipped across the open ground and ploughed furrows through them.

Massed charged of Orc Pirates broke a few of the Company units but most of the damage was already done – the Orcs numbers thinned to the extent that Adm’rul Kurgan was left running across the battlefield unaccompanied, desperately trying to catch up with the charging Orcs and swearing profusely.

The firepower of the Company was just too much in the end though, when their Outriders ran down the Orc artillery their gunners were given free-reign to pick their targets across the fractured Pirates lines.
