So, I played my first proper game with my showgirls last night against Dave's Redchapel gang.

Game location: - The Theatre, with surrounding streets, along with an aether pool (did sod all really)

Deployment: - Diagonal

Strategies: - Dave had Slaughter, I had Line in the sand - I pretty much ignored my strategy, and went for my schemes, which was probably the wrong plan, the dynamite markers were in the majority in the theatre, so I should have just gone for it and tried to get them. Dave's slaughter mission was hard for him as although i'm quite delicate, i'm also very fast and move about all over the shop.

Schemes: - I announced Sabotague - to interact with a building on daves side of the table, and power ritual, to interact with all 4 corners of the table - I chose these as I'm quite mobile so I thought it'd be easy for me to get these - I could have made it faster as well, but I made a couple of schoolboy errors in deployment. Dave announced bodyguard to ensure seamus was alive - which is a good one, as he's got 12 wounds and can regen, so is a tough cookie to kill, and another secret one to stop me having people in his deployment - which I could have stopped, if I hadn't gone for glory with Cassandra in the final action - need to keep mindful of the different schemes avaliable.

Crews: - I had Colette, 2 corphee, a perfomer/mannequin, Cassandra 4 soulstones
Dave had Seamus, Bette, Sybil, 3 Belles, copycat killer, dunno how many soulstones

The game itself was quite cool, the theatre in the middle blocked quite a few lines of sight, and could probably do with a few more doors/windows to allow LOS - I may make some ruined wall markers you can move round to give it a bit of extra visibility.

My first turn I executed the snatch play to steal away a belle using disappearing act, then illusioning collette away from harms reach, then next turn the belle reappeared and I twatted her down with my corphee duet, then disappearing acted bette away for the turn, then repeated it the next turn - this is a good tactic to seperate and gang up on someone.

the corphees then went on a speedy trip round the table - circumventing the entire table activiating the power ritual in each corner, completeing the sabotage mission, making a quick swipe at bette on the way through.

last turn I reactivated cassandra for a grand finale to kill a belle, forgetting that bette would reappear - thus not counting as dead, so I had to use my last two actions killing her, getting killed myself by bette's slow to die action which was foolish - I should have just done southern charm, made a healing flip and tried to disengage to run away to his table half.

End Result: - Draw - 3 VPs each - I got sabotage (2VPS), Power ritual (1VP) Dave got bodyguard (2VPs), stopping me getting into his deployment (1VP)

I'm liking the showgirls so far, they have quite a few little tricksy things they can do.

Things that came up:

Slaughter - paired models such as my perfomer/mannequin which are 6/- - apparently the quin doesn't count at all, you just need to kill the performer for 6 SS
Blasts - do they get centered on the target, or just placed so they can clip the target?
Moving through your own models - allowed?

Yeah, theatre was cool and worked reasonably well. Will come into its own with more action happening indoors I think.

I was thinking of announcing a scheme to have someone in contact with a terrain piece by the end (the bar) but decided against it. This would have made you have to get indoors late on to stop me winning if I could have slowed your power surge to 1VP, also giving me a better shot at Slaughter. Need to think through complementary schemes and strats more I think.

I had a game with my Kirai crew today vs. A Collette crew, there were a couple things that I noticed...

1: my god Cassandra is hard. Until I got the jump on her by winning initiative I just couldn't hit the ho.

2: those quins are quite hard to kill, even ignoring armour I had a hard time of it.

Yeah, I only managed to get the Mannequin down by cheating Seamus' flintlock for one big hit. Looks like you need a big damage dealer, something that negates armour or just chipping at them. Having said that they have WP8(!) so any wp based spells to avoid armour have a hard time.

I managed to get rid of Cassandra after a lucky Red Joker on the damage flip for a Belle and Bette Noir. Seems like paired weapons is the way to go for her if you can't get the jump on her so you can at least cheat the attack flip.

Thing that got me was the Coryphee duet. Df7 with a + flip? Damn!
