First game was against Callum. His list was approximately:

Maracas
Flying libby with quickening and might
5 Termies with ass.
4 Tac squads, heavy bolter, las, plasma, flamers etc, fists in all squads
Dev squad with quad rocket
Vindie.

Ridiculously static army. Figured as he spread his deployment, i could hit one flank then use shrouding to stop the other half shooting me whilst i storm boltered him a lot. Put my whole army on my left, facing off against his vindie, assault squad, lascannon and termies. Everything else wouldn't do much i hoped.

Cheekily stole the initiative and killed a couple of marines. Had the incin squad in one LR and the termies in the other on the far left. His turn did bugger all as his two pies both missed (forgot maraca boy got one as well). My turn, his assault squad is just in slapping range of my termies, in they go. Lascannons killed the vindie, storm bolters drop quite a few marines. I probably could have charged my incin squad into his lascannon squad but would need a 6 on DT so held back. Termies JUST kill off the assault squad in one go, saving Bauer from a fisting, libby kills one and holds.

His termies are slowly getting in range but not much else is doing anything. Eventually he starts to move stuff across, has one good shooting phase where i fail nearly every save on the big squad and all but the justicar die. He then runs to the far corner to survive. Eventually I decide to just shoot him as i dont have to sacrifice a squad. He fails a few saves and i end killing off a squad or two and the termies. Game ends turn 5 and I've killed libby, one tac squad, termies, assault squad and vindie and I've lost half a squad of GKs and half the GKTs.

Win.

Standard anti-daemon deployment. Two walking squads in a building, other two in a LRs. He gives me first turn so I push both my LRs forward to limit his deployment. He gets his wrong wave on (win) which means two 'letter squads drop down in the middle in front of my LRs, the other on my left and a DP on the right. And a grinder on my back left. He runs a bit and tries to hide in a building. Out come my squads. Red squad slaps down both incinerators, catching both squads and sending 11 back to the warp. Both squads go to ground but only one lives. The other 'letter squad gets trashed by storm bolter spam. LRs trash the soul grinder.

Crushers, 'bearers and both cockthirsters turn up. Skarband deepstrikes where the grinder got smoked. Crushers drop where the 'letters got smoked. DP kills a couple with shooting, not much happening for him. My turn, GKT and incinerators kill a couple of crushers and charge them (he passed a lot of saves). Drawn combat. Other shooting drops the DP and puts a couple of wounds on skarbrand. Other cockthirster turns up and scatters off the table. Woops. Other grinder turns up and scatters onto skarband and I put him the other end of the table. Combat kills the crusher but the 'bearers survive. Skarband fails his DT to charge me. GK turn round and blast him back to the warp. Bearers die eventually but the grinder gets across and kills a LR and a GK squad. Game ends with Bauer standing in front of the grinder laughing his ass of at his WS1 attacks.

Bauer kill count: 3 assault marines, librarian, 5 marines, 2 bloodletters, 1 bloodcrusher and 4 plaguebearers.

Bah i hate deceiver and all his gay rules. Deceiver runs towards me, i shoot him, dont do much. I also forgot to bring the rest of my army on in turn 1 as it was dawn of war - balls. He made a mistake of boosting his scarabs in front of me, so i charged and laid the smacketh down with S6. Lots of shooting later I kill one destroyer squad and get deceiver down to one wound (took a couple off in combat as well). 12 psycannon shots later and I can't roll a six to kill him grrr. Looking back at that game all that really happened was him shooting my GK with his destroyers and we not doing much in return. I lose by not that much. I think Bauer may have actually died in that but i really cant remember much of the game. Probably because the rum phase occured next.

Onto game four against a certain Mr Percival. Was looking forward to this as I reckon I can take daemons with their piecemeal arrival. Plus I love psycannoning expensive models.

Mission was home and away for what it matters (really need to have better missions next year). Gary proceeds to get the wrong wave and craps himself in preparation for some diabolical dice rolling. I castle up a lot. He drops his plaguebearers to my left with his DP behind with a really risky DP. Fiends drop about 15" from my incinerator LR. Some nurglings came down as well. Couple of things run. Pain time. I could sit back and shoot him but a) where's the fun in that, and b) those fiends WILL assault me. So in goes red squad to do what they do best, slap a dual template down, charge, slap things with force weapons and hope they don't die. Unfortunately it was into cover and Gary caused 12 wounds lol. One lived and ran away but got heavy boltered the next turn. Rest of my turn was spent shooting hte piss out of the daemon prince, who promptly fell over from a storm bolter. Win.

Gary's second turn involved the big fat lad appearing, nothing else. He comes down off the icon. Shooting doesnothing but the nurglings charge red squad. Eventually all my GK die but kill most of the nurglings - damn eternal warrior on everything. My turn involves not moving much and shooting Ku'gath a lot but only doing two wounds. Bah. He then bounces off a LR. My third turn involves shooting the fat ass again and killing him off. Go go psycannons.

Eventually DJ scribes turns up and tries to turn Bauer into spawn. Err no. At this point his plaguebearers charge my termies and Gary actually rolls some good dice and passes about 6 5+ saves and wins combat. Next turn, DJ scribes goes back to the warp in a lascannon shaped hole and the other horrors get slapped. This then forms a massive ruck with the 14 plaguebearers, my GKT and a squad of GK. And the slow repeated NFW strokes beheading plaguebearer after plaguebearer.

That was pretty much all told, epi turned and sat on his objective, no point contesting it. FLamers eventually turned up turn 5 after rolling a 1 each turn and killed off my termies (made the mistake of detaching bauer who could have taken a wound and not lost me points).

Solid win to me. Don't think Gary could have done anything else bar use Neil's dice

Game 5.

At some point my luck has to break and I'm gonna catch a pasting. My opponent has this:

Lash Sorceror

8 PMs in a rhino with sacrifical champ
7 PMs with plasma and fist in a rhino x 2

Wow i'm screwed I think. My only hope is to shut down his oblits with my LRs early and get lucky with psycannons on his rhinos and take him piecemeal. Lash is a pain and would probably screw over using shrouding against his plasma cannons. Even in combat, he has a lot of T5 FNP marines. Oh and a greater daemon.

He wins roll to go first in home and away, sets a rhino up 24" across with his sacrificial squad and sorceror in. I set up one squad with twin psycannons on my objective. Bit of ninja dice rolling later and i seize the iniatitive. My whole army moves on, lining up his rhino. Good start. Then I start rolling for night fight. Both LRs with their twin las roll 9" and psycannon squad rolls 6". Cheers lads. Termies just manage to see it, hit 8 times with their psycannons then roll one 6 and seven 1's. LOL. He then makes the cover save. Ah well. His first turn just involves his army moving on. RHino thinks about running forwards then realises I'll surround the rhino and kill everything.

My second turn and I really hope for better shooting please. Termies make up for last time and smoke the rhino with the first shot. LRs start shooting at oblits and despite him going to ground, 2 die. Better. His turn sees his rhinos burn forward and the defiler think about shooting. GD turns up and this is why I hate the rules for them. He has the FW nurgle daemon and the base is the size of a CD at least. Putting the base at the back of where the champ is basically gains him about 5" - fucking stupid rules. Sorceror then perils himself but casts lash on my termies and pulls them forward 12" right into charge range. Lascannons ping off my LRs. GD charges my termies (sorceror and plague marines elect not to as they're easy kills for me). I fluff all my attacks (3's then 4's) but he only kills two and I pile in.

I now have a rather major problem. Big fat GD sat in my lines eating my termies. In an ideal world he'd have failed his charge (he rolled 2,2,1 to charge me and was exactly 2" away - stupid lash) and I'd have shot him with psycannons then lascannoned the rhinos coming towards me. Ah well. One solution for this - all GK charge the GD!! After much dice rolling (i really love WS5 and S6 attacks) the GD is removed. My other shooting does nothing (made all four inv saves sigh). I really enjoyed that heroic charge of GK to kill their hated enemy but now i'm in rapid fire range of the rest of his army - ah well I'm screwed. All his PMs move up and shoot the red squad and kill it to a man. Some other GK may have died. He tries to lash me again with his DP but fails so I don't get charged. Sorceror grows some balls and charges my GKT....but charges through terrain so Bauer turns round and force weapon pwns him.

Got a bit lucky here so time to ram it home. Bauer and GKTs charge the original PM squad and rip it to pieces. Blue squad line up 20 storm bolter shots against his DP and wound it 12 times.......he then saves 10 lol. Awesome dice rolling. LRs cant kill the flaming defiler and its in charge range. At this point he immobilises my LR with a defiler charge, rather than charge my GKT - fine by me. DP stuns my other LR and he may killed a couple GK with rapid fire.

Bauer charges another PM squad and they pwn it again with some softening up. DP gets dropped by my normal GK but my LRs cant kill the flaming defiler - bloody 7 twin lascannons and all ive done is remove the battlecannon!! His last turn sees the remaining PMs run from Bauer (ha!) and then he shoot the LRs. Oblits get one shot through and kill one, defiler just about manages to kill the other.

Counting up VPs its a draw, which means if he hadn't have killed the two LRs with his last two rolls i would have won lol. Bauer is a hero.

Finally, about two months later I get around to writing the rest of this up.

Game 6 saw me drawn against Mike Bolton, aka Grimsmite off TWF. Seen Mike around a lot but never got the pleasure of playing him mano e mano. His filthy looked quite filthy from my PoV.

So AV14 that I'll struggle to kill - check.
Lots of melta to kill my own LRs - check.
Hard combat unit - check.

Lucky for me it was kill points spearhead so I can engage him in pieces. I deployed in a wide horse shoe, with the smaller GK squad as bait. The LRs sat behind, hoping some more trees would grow to hide them. He combat squaded the MM squad and deployed the rhino, LR and ironclads to come towards me. The lazerbak and squad hung back, whilst the bikes and speeder went in reserve.

The cheeky swine then stole the initiative (half of my games at carnage featured someone stealing the initiative) and pushed the LR forward with the ironclads behind. His first shot then immobolised one of my LRs with a lascannon. My return fire saw lascannons bounce off his LR but my assorted psycannons blew the rhino up and killed a couple of marines. Good start but the LRC is going to hit.

Balls to the wall and the LRC boshes through some trees and drops some termies in my pants. Great. They charge the small GK squad, vulkan kills three but the remaining three kill three termies back but get squashed by some thunder hammers lol. Think the bikes and speeders turned up this morning but the meltas did nothing and the speeder discovered the joys of shrouding.

Operation kill those bloody terminators swings into affect. Incinerator squad leaps out, chargrills a couple then 16 storm bolters claim a couple more. Both squads then charge (termies were out of range so swatted a couple more marines with psycannons). The charge results in vulkan being left standing on one or two wounds, surrounded by a lot of angry GK. Win. Oh and a LR slaps the bikes with lascannons. Good turn.

Rest of the game: LRC immobolises itself in the trees but then kills my immobolised LR with its assault cannon - smeg. Vulkan goes down, enabling one squad to melta bomb the LRC. The ironclads ran towards me but the GK got on the LRs in time and ran away, leaving the LRs to lascannon the ironclads eventually. Termies and the bigger GK squad pushed forward, killing the MM squad and possibly the razerbak. Game ended on turn 5 i think, with me losing my termies, small GK squad and a LR and Mike only having a tac squad and speeder left. Good win to me.

Overall I was quite impressed with the way the list played. I had some good luck in places but everything I took turned out to be useful. I was a bit unsure about the incinerators but it turns out they are mint coming out of a LR before a charge. I would take this to a GT, if they made GTs 1750pts!!

No because you lose one of these three:

a) a LR
b) a scoring GK squad
c) the termies.

All of them are really useful. I've tried a few games without the third GK squad as that's the easiest to lose but it just sucks only having two scoring units as they have to get stuck in quite a lot as well.

Maybe it would be better with some ISTs in there, would certainly help the AT problems!
